Pickering Creek Audubon Center
Interested in learning how to bird, but not sure where to start? Join Pickering Creek staff and knowledgeable birders for a fun and engaging morning honing your birding skills at Peterson Woods. We’ll start our day indoors before heading out in the field. You’ll leave with a greater understanding for identifying birds in the field by sight or sound, as well as a plan for continuing your birding education! Binoculars and field guides provided. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.  Call 410-822-4903 to register.

Audubon's Baltimore Winter Birding Weekend
Audubon’s birding festival consists of an exciting itinerary of guided bird watching field trips entirely within the city limits. The purpose of Audubon's Baltimore Birding Weekends is to connect people to the city’s waterfront and green spaces, highlight the incredible wildlife diversity that can be discovered in our urban parks, wetlands, and ecological restoration sites, and have a fun time exploring Charm City. Join us for a walk or a boat ride.  Click here for more information.

Great Backyard Bird Count, Free 
Join volunteers for Great Backyard Bird Count at
Pickering Creek Audubon Center.  Volunteers of all
birding skill levels are needed to join the survey
group in the morning, to listen and point out birds
that might otherwise be missed.  A family-friendly bird walk is scheduled, complete with a scavenger hunt for little ones and an opportunity to make suet for winter birds visiting the Center’s feeders.  Call 410-822-4903 to register.

Druid Hill Park is an important migratory stopover in Baltimore City! Experts from Audubon and the Maryland Zoo will lead us in search of avian friends! Bring the whole family - all ages and abilities welcome! No experience necessary. If you would like to borrow binoculars, drop us an email – we have plenty to share!  There is no need to RSVP for this event, just arrive ready to explore! Take a trip with Tim and Brad to the Blackwater NWR on the eastern shore. You will search for Tundra Swans, Snow Geese, Brown-headed Nuthatches, wintering ducks, and other avian treasures. Monday, February 19, . 830AM-530PM, Animal Olympics: Day Off EcoCamp, $60.00 per child
Is your 2nd-4th grader off school for President’s Day?  Do they love the Winter Olympics?  Send them to Pickering Creek for a day of Olympic-style animal investigations and outdoor explorations!  Can you flap your “wings” as fast as a hummingbird, sniff out your food as quickly as a fox, or fly from South America to Canada?  Olympians should be dressed for the weather, pack a lunch and snack, and be ready to discover their inner animal! Space is limited to 20 participants. *Optional Limited Transportation from Kohl’s in Easton for an extra $10.00 per child. Pick-up at 8:00am, drop-off at 6:00pm
