***Big Business Will Benefit Patients
I have heard from Nevada cardholders that they worry about large dispensaries and businesses taking over Nevada and co-opting the conversation.  However, I feel that the Nevada patients will benefit disproportionately more than the reciprocal patients coming from out of state – plus we finally have safe access to medicine.  Just like casinos and entertainment on the strip give extras away to locals, these MME businesses will be good community members and give away “Freebies” to the local patient community.  It is in their interest to maintain strong local cardholder support, which may include patient services such as acupuncture, massage, yoga, and nutritional counseling.  You can look at Harborside, as a good example of a community focused dispensary that gives free medicine just for patients volunteering an hour of their day to do cannabis activism work, along with many other services provided for free.  If not, we as a patient community will need to hold them to their promises made to local jurisdictions and to the state of Nevada.

***Patients Cards Increasing & WECAN needs your help
WECAN had its executive board meeting Saturday 1/10 and we have currently assisted over 4 patients in getting their card.  We have a backlog of patients that need help getting their cards.  We recently had a local physician promise to help us increase the amount of patients to 8 a month by donating his services to WECAN.  Please make a donation or join WECAN so we can help more patients in Nevada get their medical marijuana cards via our website.  Below you will find a recent Review Journal article I am quoted in, talking about the increase in patient cards as dispensaries have gotten closer to opening.

*** CHAMPS Conference
Dispensaries that need merchandise for their store need to check out the upcoming CHAMPS Trade Show on February 3rd to purchase water pipes, papers, jars, and everything a retail store would need wholesale to sell.  I spoke with CHAMPS over the phone and they are willing to give all dispensaries free merchandise and free advertisement in the local media magazine “Vegas Cannabis” – more information is available on their page about this opportunity, which also includes smoke shops.

***NV Cannabis History Lesson
Did you know that in 2007 Nevada NORML organized a 420 festival that was canceled by the city of Las Vegas because of the stigma around cannabis?  It would have been the first 420 cannabis focused festivals in Nevada organized by Beth Soloe, the president of NVNORML, before the group disbanded a few years later.  In 2008, yours truly organized the largest 420 party up to that period of time at Beauty Bar, with the support of Nevada NORML in Las Vegas, but it had to have no advertisement because of the risk of it getting shut down.  Years later we have WECAN’s patient parties that allow Nevada cardholders and now cardholders from around the country to feel safe consuming cannabis with other patients.

***Canna Insider Podcast & Electrum Partners
I highly recommend the CannaInsider.com Podcast for cannabis industry news for activists, MME owners, and those seeking to work in the industry.  Mathew Kind has an articulate and informed way of asking questions that present a wonderful entertaining experience for the listener.  He recently was featuring Steve DeAngelo, from Harborside and Steep Hill, and Nevada’s Leslie Bocskor, of Electrum Partners, a venture capitalist fund.

***Free Stock Marijuana Photography
If you ever need free Marijuana stock photography that is free from cannabis stereotypes, feel free to use these photos as needed.  I could be saying we don’t all wear tie dye and Birkenstocks; listen to Phish - even though all of the above is awesome.

***WECAN 702 Radio Show & Please Help Us
We are in need of more individuals connected into the cannabis industry to interview for our broadcast radio show (30-40,000 listenership reach) and YouTube channel.  We are now adding a podcast version of the radio show, which will substantially increase our patient reach.  Please contact (Beach@wecan702.org) if interested.  This would get the word out about your NV MME facility and also help with branding.  We also have 30 second spots that go for $100 apiece.  Our WECAN facebook has over 127,947 likes with 40,762 reached.  We want to help connect you with the cannabis patient community.
We are seeking donations of MJ Business T-Shirts or items that are branded to your business that you would like to donate to us to sell by donation at First Friday and our patient parties.  This will give patients the opportunity to wear / advertise your business logo.  We can also give you a tax receipt because WECAN is a non-profit.

**420 Yoga
If you love yoga and want to attend Nevada’s first 420 Beginner Yoga Class – it is taught by yours truly at Blue Sky Yoga inside the Arts Factory every Tuesday at 4:30PM.
