Pittwater’s residents are invited to a final
public meeting on Saturday 7 November to hear an update from Council
and express their democratic voice on the State Government’s Fit for
the Future council amalgamation process.
Pittwater Council’s General Manager Mark Ferguson says the need for a
public meeting comes after IPART deemed Pittwater ‘unfit’ because of
‘scale and capacity’ and before Council’s 18 November 2015 deadline to
respond with a final submission.
“I urge our residents to come along and be part of the bigger
conversation,” Mr Ferguson said.
Earlier this week Pittwater’s councillors resolved to hold a public
meeting, giving the Pittwater community one last say and the chance to
contribute to assist with Pittwater’s preference selection moving
forward.
Councillors will consider the community voice and any discussions
options at Council’s next meeting on Monday 16 November 2015.
