Psalm 33:3 Sing to Him a new song.

EVERYDAY SONGS

It is fun to watch little children playing, they make up games that you sometimes wonder what it is they are playing at. It is just as interesting to watch them and hear them sing. It doesn't matter if the words make sense to others, they just like to sing. We could learn a lesson from them. In fact we often do find ourselves singing songs of some type. Sad songs if we are down, happier songs when things are going well. True we may not make up the words to our songs, yet we sing and that is a good thing.

The psalmist takes us from rejoicing in the LORD to urging us to sing to Him, it just follows so naturally. When you have a cheerful and merry heart it is not difficult to find one's self humming or singing a song or two. Songs you grew up with and heard on the radio can just pop into one's head.

Here is a question to consider though, how many of those songs which you heard from the radio would you actually sing in a worship service? I doubt there would be many if any at all. So, if you would not sing secular songs in church, why outside of church? Is not the LORD with us always?

The point is, that what songs we hear and sing we should consider carefully since we are to sing to the LORD and to show His praises from day to day.
