Dear friends,

Our first full day in Kabul has been a long one and the evening (my usual writing time) was filled with relationships and learning... so I'm going to be brief and let a few photos do most of the talking.

Our day began by sorting school supplies and wooden toys brought from home that we distributed
later in the morning at the Kabul School for working street kids.

At the Kabul School... you've never heard the "A-B-C's" sung so sweetly.

Diana, Lacey, and LaNae with some future members of Parliament perhaps?

Robb said he wants to be just like these incredible boys when he grows up.

Every child deserves at least one hot nourishing meal every day... and we were blessed to be
allowed to serve these inspirational kids today.

While the guys were away, the ladies were sharing green tea and henna -- gifts of love and friendship
from their dear Afghan friends.

I have no photos for what turned out to be the most poignant part of the day for most of us.  We had dinner and spent several hours this evening at the home of an ex-pat (non-Afghan) family that has lived here since 1997!  We were literally held spellbound throughout the evening as we listened to stories about their lives during the Afghan Civil War, while under Taliban rule, and today as they continue to work to help the Afghan people rebuild and restore their country.  This family's dedication, understanding, and love for the Afghan people, their land, and their culture is truly inspiring and energizing.  What a blessing to spend the entire evening with them!

OK... time to wrap up and get some much needed rest for another full day tomorrow.  Thank you for your prayers and notes of support.  Everyone on the team sends their thanks and love!
