September is finally here and boy are we excited!! Not only is it the start of Fall, our favorite knitting season of the year, but it is our anniversary month- the best way to kick off the season. This year, the shop turns 19 and we can't wait to celebrate with our annual sale, exclusive yarn, and a whole lot of prizes!!

In addition to the exciting Anniversary stuff, we also have an incredible calendar of classes for the season giving you the tools and motivation to improve those knitting, crochet, and spinning skills. Come learn something new with us!

New In The Shop

Introducing the new Zodiac Series from Emma's Yarn! As they follow the sun’s path through the cosmos throughout the next astrological year, they are releasing a Theme Pack and a Super Silky Trio for each of the twelve signs of the zodiac as they come up! We will have all 12 colorpacks and theme packs as they come out.

August 22nd marks the beginning of the sixth month of the astrological year, Virgo. People born with the sun in Virgo are said to be intelligent, traditional, honest, and trustworthy. Emma's Virgo Theme Pack and Super Silky Trio taps into virgo’s practical nature that is ruled by the earth.

Looking for a project? We have a Ravelry Bundle full of ideas for using the Emma's Theme Packs. As for the colorpacks we think they would be wonderful in projects like the Gradient Lights Shawl by Laura Dobratz, the Triangulate Shawl by Carissa Browning, the Dreamstate Shawl by Lisa Mutch, or the Bunting Shawl by Hailey Bailey
The September Crazy Beautiful Color of the month from Emma's Yarns is a stunning blend of rosy mauves, deep magentas, and subtle, rich violet tones. Vibrant yet romantic, like those late summer blooms and dramatic sunset skies.

As usual, the color plays well with a huge variety of coordinating colors! Pictured here (left to right) with Cat’s Meow, Barbie Girl, Nightshade, and Silver Lining.

Events at ReBelle

It's that time again, time for another anniversary celebration!! We will be doing all the same shenanigans- 10% off your entire purchase for wishing us a happy birthday, a special sale only yarn dyed for you by us, some thematic activities and prizes, and a good dose of general silliness.

This year ReBelle is off to college. Our sale-only yarn is a nod to that tweedy-jacketed professor, a 100g of a fingering weight 85% fine superwash merino, 15% Donegal tweed nep blend and we've paired it with an 80% fine superwash merino, 20% recycled nylon blend 20g mini skein!! All of our 19 colorways are based on real university courses, even some that we took! We will have 75 handdyed skeins paired with a mini skein and 5 undyed 100g skeins available for $16 each. These usually go pretty fast so there is a limit of 1 handdyed skein and 1 undyed skein per crafter (and yes, the discount will apply to these!!!)

Thank you for 19 amazing years!!

Join Us for a Lazy Sunday Stitch-In

Come join other Lexington area knitters, crocheters, and stitchers while we craft away a lazy Sunday afternoon. This gathering is the perfect opportunity to unwind, share your latest projects, and learn from fellow crafters in a supportive and friendly environment. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome!

While you're here, don't forget to stop by and visit our friends next door at Olive's Apron. They have prepared a delightful selection of warm teas and tasty treats to nibble on while you stitch away the afternoon. There's nothing quite like the combination of good company, delicious snacks, and the soothing rhythm of crafting to make your Sunday feel truly special.

For the September shop KAL, we will be knitting or crocheting patterns that use the mosaic technique, a style of colorwork worked one color at a time using slipped stitches. This themed KAL/CAL coincides with the Malabrigo Barnstable Shawl KAL so if you are planning to knit that project, you can register on their site for a free copy of the pattern and a chance to win one of their KAL prizes. We have plenty of Seis Cabos in stock and have put together some kits with coordinating colors for the Barnstable Shawl. If you don't want to knit that shawl or are looking for a crochet project to meet this theme, Robyn created a Ravelry bundle with several other pattern ideas. She is also available if you need help finding a pattern for a particular set of yarns or a technique you want to learn.

All ReBelle knit alongs are free and open to the public. You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the KAL sessions as you like.

Lamina Cowl/Wrap

One of our favorite knits this year, the Lamina Cowl and Wrap by Ambah O'Brien could be your new favorite, too! Make it Rainbowy and long or make it two colors and a cowl- the choice is yours. You can use a fade yarn, a mini skein set, or that skein of fingering weight that you bought on vacation, or just those leftover partials we all have. The lace pattern is both charted and written out, and is a great first lace project. We can help you decide on a yarn that’s right for you, and the perfect contrasting color for the garter rib accents.
