North Yorkshire Bead Fair
Just 13-minutes from the Centre of Harrogate is at a new hall for us. In the village of Spofforth, near it’s castle, HG3 1AP. No car? The x70 bus runs every hour Saturday to Stofforth, from both Harrogate and Weatherby. For details click North Yorkshire Bead Fair.
Penrith Bead Fair
In Stainton, CA11 0EP, just 9-minutes from Penrith. This new air-conditioned hall is also easily reached by bus. Bus X5 runs every hour on Sunday from Penrith to Workington – get off at the Methodist Church in Stainton, then just 1-minute walk to us. Details at: Penrith Bead Fair. Copy us and stay overnight – so you can cruise one of the lakes. On Monday we’re taking a boat on Derwent Water to walk Cat Bells and staying a night in Keswick.
One of the key advantages is cost. Compared to precious gemstones like diamonds or rubies, semi-precious stones are more affordable. While still providing rich, vibrant aesthetics. Ideal for both beginners and professional jewellers who want to experiment on a budget. Additionally, most semi-precious stones carry metaphysical benefits – such as calming and healing energy or enhancing focus. Making jewellery made from them not just decorative, but also meaningful to the wearer.
Finally, working with semi-precious beads supports sustainable and small-scale craftsmanship. As many are limited sourced ethically, and used in only handcrafted designs. The stones are also hard and durable – ideal for long-lasting jewellery.

Cornish Bead Fair – Wadebridge
We love it in Cornwall, and Cornish beaders love us! As usual, this was a busy show with good sales. We’ll be back in Cornwall next year around late spring in Probus.
London Gem n Bead Fair
This was busier than expected, especially from noon on the Saturday. Lot of visitors and good wholesale takings. We won’t be at Kempton Park again this year, or spring 2026, but will return for the summer show next year.
It was great to see all our friends from the Gem n Bead Fairs. Especially camping with Andrew from Monty’s Beads and Phil and Debra from Crystal Holdings. Plus at the excellent farewell for the late Sheila Harrison, organised by Harriet of Ilona Biggins Beads. Sheila used to sell at the Gem n Bead Fairs and our own shows. Sheila was a legend - still working at 86-years-old! See the online newsletter for pictures.

Metaphysical Properties
Some people believe certain crystals emit “cooling” energy that can calm the mind and body. Stones like Quartz, Blue Lace Agate, Moonstone, Amethyst & Lapis Lazuli.
Plus Crystals linked to the water element or the throat chakra (blue hues) are often described as having cooling properties in traditional healing systems like Ayurveda or crystal healing.
