Haftarah Plethora
In a reprise of last year’s Haftarah Plethora for B'Shallah, Larry suggests that the D’vora story in the Haftarah is an example of early feminism in the Tanach. Rick notes that the Masorites wanted to emphasize the action and excitement of the story by means of the special trope. Although the boys skipped part of Chapter 5 last year, Rick chants the Haftarah in its entirety this year, in all its poetic glory. Shabbat Shalom

Happy Tu Bishvat from the Steering Committee
Our Library Minyan Governing Charter states that “All terms begin on Tu Bishvat (or as close to then as is practical) in even-numbered years.” Which means it is time to thank our current Steering Committee members for their work during these last two fun-filled years. We also welcome those who have volunteered to begin their work this coming Monday.
