The Global Facility Management Association, is pleased to start this new year with many exciting news and projects for the association to work on throughout 2012.
Global FM is happy to announce a new member of the Association: the Facilities Management Association of New Zealand (FMANZ). Established three years ago, the Association has already 400 members over the three main commercial centres of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
FMANZ is holding its inaugural conference, the New Zealand FM Summit 2012, on 22 and 23 May 2012 in Auckland. The conference will focus on “FM Aiding Growth and Stability Amidst Uncertainty.” FMANZ expects over 200 delegates and trade exhibitors at the Eden Park Conference Centre.
At the start of 2012, Global FM is preparing its events and activities. Three Taskforces have been created to work on World FM Day, Global FM Awards for Excellence in FM and the International Workshops. World FM Day will take place on 28 June this year. The theme of this fourth edition of this event will be “celebrating success.” All promotional activities will start in the coming weeks and Global FM will endeavour to gather as much FM professionals as possible to share their latest achievements and successes and turn it to a great global celebration on 28 June. In two months’ time, Global FM will open a call for submissions for the 2012 edition of the Global FM Awards for Excellence in Facilities Management. The Global FM Board of Directors decided to announce the winners of the Awards towards the end of the year, during a date yet to be confirmed. In addition to World FM Day and the Awards, Global FM will be present in six different countries hosting a series of International Workshops dedicated to the theme: “the New Economy, the Right Time and the Right Place for FM.”
The first International Workshop will take place in Dubai, UAE, on 12 March. It will be followed by Paris, France, on 5 April; Canberra, Australia, on 17 May; London, UK, on 18 June; Brazil on 22 October and Texas, USA, between 31 October and 2 November (date to be confirmed).
