#6: Sysco Addition to Bus Tour Provides Even More Focus on Food
A new stop on
Saturday's Bus Tour A

Though this conference already contains a good deal of content related to food on the farm, with the help of Wayne Bishop we've just added a quick stop at Sacramento's Sysco facility. Everyone who selected the Saturday bus tour that stops at the Heidrick Ag Museum, you'll now get a sneak peek at Sysco's test/demo kitchen as well. Located right on the way to Bishop's Farm, it'll be a convenient and educational stop for those hoping to learn all they can about food on the farm.
“Over the years, Sysco has been in a key partner in the food service part of our business.  We visit their warehouse and test kitchen at least once a year for their free expert assistance in refining or expanding our menu offerings.  Just last year, we learned during our visit that our profit margin problem on chicken strips had nothing to do with pricing, cooking methods, portion control, or chicken sourcing, but everything to do with the fact we hadn’t been serving fries with them; Duh!  For anyone planning to start up or expand a food service operation, a visit to the Sysco plant will be a great opportunity to see exactly how important it is to establish these kinds of relationships.”

Book Your Airport Shuttle for the Corn Party
Since the Hilton does not have a complimentary shuttle from the airport, you will want to book a SuperShuttle for your transportation. We have arranged a $4 RT discount off their rate, which you can receive by CLICKING HERE to book or calling 800-258-3826 and using the discount code GMZ2H. For additional information about booking, CLICK HERE to download an information sheet. If you have 4 or more people in your party, your cheapest option is to reserve a private 7-passenger van. If you have 3 or less, you'll want to book a shared ride van.

Did You Get Your Hotel At Our Blocked Rate?
If any of you have had trouble getting a hotel room at our blocked rate at either hotel, there are more available this week.

Madera (Pre-Conference Tour Hotel): Though the Springhill Suites block filled, we do have a second block at the Holiday Inn Express. Please CLICK HERE for more details on www.cornparty.com.

Sacramento Hilton: Because our block filled last week, we just signed a contract to add additional rooms at the same $99 rate. Those should be available in the Hilton's system by the first part of this week. If you have trouble getting a room at this rate, please let us know. Please note that this block will close on February 2 and the rate won't be available after that date.

Exclusive Discount from Signs of the Seasons
We will not be attending the maize conference in California this year, thus we have decided to offer a discount of 15% on all sign orders placed by Friday Jan 27, 2012. This discount is not being offered at the Hershey Show or NAFDMA that we will be attending, and is exclusive for the maize group only!

If you have a catalog from the last year or two, you can reference that.  We also have a website with some pictures on it.  Of course not everything we make is on the website.  Also if you contact me, we have some new designs on my phone that I can text or email to you.  As always if you have a specific design in mind we can make it for you.
