of the Month
"Too bad you don't collect reviews on your patterns. I just finished the Quattro and i've got to tell you - it's the 1st decently engineered bag pattern I've ever gotten from an indie designer, and besides that... it's gorgeous! Thanks!"

First off we have a fun and fabulous Harmony Handbag which was created by Georgia Segura of Webster, TX. I ADORE the flower embellishment that Georgia made and added to the bag front so be sure to click the image for a larger view!  :)

This shimmery Cosmo Convertible was created by Fran Bott of Norfolk, VA. Fran accessorized her beautiful bag with black hardware which adds an element of elegance! Great job Fran!

And wouldn't it be fun to carry this cheerful & colorful Wrapsody? It was created by Marty Campbell of Emmett, ID. She said she made each of the zippered pockets a different color and I love this look!

Cathy Rosynek of Eagle River, AK created this pink-trimmed Quattro for her little sister who  LOVES these colorful skull characters. Here's a closeup of Cathy embroidered front pocket area. GREAT job Cathy!  :)

This "perfect in paisley" Boho Baguette was created and submitted by Mary Warman of nearby Clemmons, NC.

And don't you love this Japanese-themed Gadabout? It was created by Kay Hersh of Highland Heights, OH.

Christine West of South Jersey finished her Wrapsody just in time to show it off at a local Pfaff dealership. Here's a side view and an impressive view of the interior!

And Zenaida Hoffman of Phoenix, AZ got this retro hula girl fabric when she was in Kawai. She originally made this Quattro for herself but when her DIL saw it, she claimed is as her own! Here's a peek INSIDE!  :)

Here's a fustastic Fall Wrapsody created by Arlene Thayer of Havre dr Grace, MD. I love the pop of turquoise that Arlene added to the interior!

And isn't this a pretty Guardian? It was made by Venla V. of central Arizona and she won this fabric at a local quilt show. Venla says she very much enjoys using the drop down zippered area in the front for storing her loyalty cards.

And this incredibly unique Quattro was submitted by Alice Hirst of Alsace, France. I just LOVE the fabrications that Alice chose. This would be such a fun bag to carry during the Fall season, don't you think?  :)  Alice chose to use a double-headed purse zipper for her main entry area which i think is a great idea!

And finally, we have this "all-a-flutter" Wrapsody by Laurinda Gillespie of Oregon. She said that this fabulous fabric just happened to be in her stash. She added a little "bling" to the a few of the wings as you can see in the closeup!  And here's a look inside!  :)
OK, ready to vote now?

Look What I Found OnLine- Parabelle

I met Lauren Cohen of Parabelle at AQS Quiltweek in Chattanooga and was VERY impressed with her scarves, ponchos and wraps, after all, what child of the 60's doesn't love a good poncho, right? I especially like this print poncho! And several of Lauren wraps can be worn in more than one way, such as The Raj. And here's a cool deal... you can 15% off your next order by "liking" Parabelle on Facebook.

Cats in the News- Supermarket Cat Brutus
1/12/14:  At Morrisons a supermarket in Saltney (the UK), a cat named Brutus has been running the aisles and greeting customers for the past three years. “He’s just our little resident cat,” said manager Les Williams.
Brutus loves hanging out at the supermarket. “If the sun’s coming through the window, he just lies down. If the sun’s coming down, he sits on top of the recycling bin.”

Techie Tutorial of the Month-

Question: It seems like every time I call tech support with a problem, the first thing they advise is to unplug my computer or modem and leave it unplugged for 15-30 seconds. Why is that delay needed?
Answer: The reason is that most devices contain capacitors, which are little batteries that function like energy buckets. They fill up when you put a current through them and discharge otherwise. Capacitors will hold a charge for at least 10 seconds after the power is off, so you have to wait longer than that for your device's Random Access
Memory (RAM) to be fully inactive. To be on the safe side, tech support often advises users to wait 15-30 seconds to make sure the capacitors discharge completely. This is important because while there's a charge, your device's RAM is still active and whatever problem you're trying to fix won't be wiped out. If you plug your device back in right away, the problem just returns. So when it comes to troubleshooting, patience is a virtue!

Monthly Trivia-
Today is Friday, the 10th day of October and the 283rd day of 2014 and as hard as it is to believe, there's only 82 days remaining in this year. WOW! It sure has flown by!
And speaking of time flying by, today is a special day for David Lee Roth, the mercurial sometimes on and sometimes off front man for the band Van Halen. Van Halen was never one of my favorite groups but I sure did enjoy watching David Lee Roth, but I digress!
And if today is also YOUR birthday, here's a great big "Happy Birthday to YOU" from StudioKat Designs, and if today is not your birthday, you can celebrate the day anyway by checking out this video, one of my favorites by Van Halen with David Lee at his very best!

Well, that's it for now, so until next month, remember!
It's a GREAT day to be sewing!
