Next week is Round 2 of the 2024-25 PDI Competition season. This round is being judged by our own Sandie Cox. Sandie is an experienced national and international judge, so we can expect an enjoyable and enlightening evening.

This weekend BPS will be taking part in the Cwm Rhondda Battle which is a competition between 22 clubs from around the UK, Northern Ireland and South Africa. The competition will be live on YouTube from 2pm onwards, the link if you'd like to watch the proceedings is:

As you can see, the competition is already open with the key details being:
- Entry fee - £15 for an entry of up to 5 prints – these can be entered into one or more of the following categories – Mono, Colour, Nature.
- The competition is for new work, not previously accepted into International or BPE salons, any PAGB competition, OTHER THAN the 2024 Inter-Club PDI or 2024 Inter Club Print competition which are eligible.
- Prints must be un-mounted and on a full sheet of A3 paper (image can be any size on the sheet). Prints are not returned.
- Prints must be received by 3 December – Anyone wanting to avoid the cost or hassle of posting your entries, your un-mounted A3 Prints can be placed into the MOP box at the front of the clubrooms on any Wednesday evening at normal club meetings, or Mondays between 11am-2pm whilst PWD are meeting on or before MONDAY 25 NOVEMBER (to allow time for delivery before the cut off of 3rd December for receipt).
- You must also upload PDI copies (max 2400px along the longest edge) via the On-Line entry system (CMS) by the earlier date of 1 December 2024.

Important Information
GWPE - Steve will be returning prints to members after the Exhibition in December. If, however, you want to use the prints from the GWPE for MOP let Steve Field or Mike Martin know and they will sort out your print and put in the MOP box, above. Note this only applies to prints not accepted into the GWPE exhibition as MOP is for new un-exhibited works only.

Amateur Photographer of the Year - Round 9 |
Well done to Rachel Domleo for getting 10 points in Round 7 (Macro) with this shot, which keeps BPS in 5th= in the Clubs league table:

Well done to Mike Martin who, to use a darts analogy, has just scored a "double top" with the Disabled Photographers Society by gaining not one but two Fellowships, which I suppose makes him Mike Martin FDPS2
Mike hedged his bets and submitted two panels, one a monochrome panel featuring people and a second featuring abstract images - looks like they liked both as he was awarded a fellowship for each panel!

Sue O’Connell was delighted to learn she has reached the finals of the Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 again (for the 9th year) with an image in the "Cities, Towns, Streets" category this time.

Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
