Pat Leask of Ontario, Canada is back with yet another fantastic handbag creation, this being our newest pattern, the Baggalista! She had intended to 'fabricate' a beautiful exterior, but when she saw this outstanding fabric, she decided to just co-ordinate a few other prints with it! I LOVE the striped fabric she used for
the bias tape and our striped zippers really highlight these phone pockets dont they? And here's a peek at the interior.

This Baggalista was constructed with 8 different Japanese Indigo fabrics, which were all in the stash of Veronica Johnson of Tasmania, Australia. You can see a few more of the fabrics she used by looking at the back and the front pocket.

Sylvia Gerber of New Holland, PA said that her first love is quilting, so all of the fabric for this DittyRoo is from her stash. She pieced together the front pouch pocket & machine quilted the gold fabric for the main body of the bag. And just look how fabulous the interior looks!

Connie Walton of El Dorado, KS said she that making this DittyRoo was both fun & challenging. She loves storing the two items she searches for most in the outside front pouch, her phone & her keys!
It took Sylvia a while to find all the colors for the pieced exterior, but that she found everything she needed at Hen Feathers Quilt Shop in Wichita, Kansas.

"Color is my favorite plaything", says Diane Rhodes of Monroeville, PA, and this Baggalista with matching 'luggage' is proof of that! I am totally in awe of this bag with matching PortaPockets, Cash Keeper & RolyNesters. Here's a closeup of the back, the front and the zippered top, ALL fabulous!  (LOVE the zippers!)

Ohio's Tina Norton created this romantic Boho Baguette (with a matching Portapockets Insert) as a gift, but just could not part with it once she was finished. (who could blame her?) Check out how fabulous the interior looks!
(And Tina says she's busy making another set for her giftee.)

And this PURRfect Quattro has a wonderful story! Karen Adams of Harrison, AR made it for a very special friend who just lost her 18-year old cat. She got the "Sew Catty" fabric online. And she also included a sewn in picture label of her giftee & their beloved friend Jackie. I think it's a very lovely tribute!

And last but certainly not least we have this wonderful Quattro by Janet Archer of Grafton, NH, who said she found our pattern online but couldn't shop at her normal fabric shop due to flooding from Hurricane Irene. She found these luscious fabrics at Hen House Fabrics in Vermont. GREAT job Janet!

  1. a. (n.) A desire while dieting and eating out to see the dessert menu and still possessing the willpower to not order dessert.

(This article appeared in the Denver Post on 10/19/2011.)
Zeus the Maine Coon cat typically spits and hisses when he sees squirrels, dogs or other cats on the other side of the sliding glass door at Gail Loveman's house in the foothills north of Boulder.
But the 11-year-old house cat was unfazed by a young mountain lion peering in at him Thursday evening, calmly staring back at the big cat.

Monthly Trivia-
Today is Dec 7th, the 342nd day of 2011 and there are only 24 days remaining in this year!
And of course the most "infamous" thing to have occurred on this day in history was the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. when nearly 200 Japanese aircraft attacked, killing nearly 3000 and bringing about our immediate entrance into World War II. Some of you have first-hand memories of that event, but for those of us that do not, click here for some actual images and video footage from that awful day in our country's history.
And on a much more pleasant note, today is the birthday of several noteable individuals, all of whom were considered to be "artists" in their chosen field! Marie Tussaud (dba Madame Tussaud) was born on this day 250 years ago in Strasbourg, France. Did you know that some of the wax figures she created herself are STILL on display in the London Wax Museum? (My husband and I saw them for ourselves when we were there 9 years ago and there are incredible!)
Former athletes, Larry Bird and Johnny Bench (who were both true artists on their respective playing fields) are also ordering up birthday cake today along with Harry Chapin, one of my favorite songwriters/ storytellers. (Click here to here a clip of my favorite Harry Chapin song.)
And if today is also your birthday, here's a great big 'Happy Birthday to YOU' from StudioKat Designs, and if today is not your birthday, how about commemorating this day making it a point to thank a veteran you know or run into for the sacrifices they've made in service to our nation?

Well, that's it for now, so until next month, remember!
