Hello, Firstname

Wednesday 1 December

Next Wednesday, 1 December, we welcome BPS member, John Chamberlin, FRPS MFIAP to Unit 13. John will be presenting his print talk called Out of Lockdown.
John says the following about his talk:
I had originally planned to give a talk in 2020 showing PDIs but I am afraid a Zoom presentation held no attraction for me - I like to see if my audience is awake - so my 'live' talk was moved to 2021. In the intervening period, both my then printers decided to 'pack up' so I purchased the recently available Epson P700. In my enthusiasm to use it, I inadvertently purchased not one but two complete sets of cartridges, 20 cartridges in al!!

This resulted in a change of plan for my evening - a 'Print' rather than a PDI presentation. I will be showing 100 plus prints produced in recent weeks plus a few 'favourites' from my days of toil in the darkroom.
Although I will show each print as an individual image, most will fit into sets or panels and will be best viewed at the club, although I am sure our cameraman will do his best for those at home.
As always, I will be showing a variety of images from various locations, in the hope I can keep you awake for about 80 minutes!

For those tuning in at home, here are the Zoom details:

Phil Savoie - Talk Notes
A couple of weeks ago we had a talk from Phil Savoie, who promised to send copies of the slides that he uses as an aide-mémoire when taking pictures, here is the link to download them.

Tom Stoddart
We have received news of the death of well-known photojournalist Tom Stoddart, on 17 November after a long illness. Tom was an Honorary Fellow of the RPS. Many tributes have been paid, but maybe one of the most informative was in the Amateur Photographer, which can be viewed here.
