Alcohol Free Church Point Discussion

Sunday 24 September 11 - 12 am

Scotland Island Community Hall

As you may have read or heard, the Northern Beaches Council is proposing to implement 24 hour alcohol free zones, including one at Church Point. Read more here.

The SIRA Committee is planning to make a submission to Council and we would like to gauge the opinion of the Community.

The discussion on Sunday is an opportunity for us to discuss what the most appropriate response should be.

ALL WELCOME!

Message from the Island Kindy

Unfortunately.... due to low numbers for our holiday care program and creative workshops, sadly...we will not be able to run some of our Creative Workshops for next weeks holiday care.

Our program will now run as follows

  • MONDAY 25TH SEPT - GARDEN MURAL - OPEN FROM 9am
(CREATING A SPRING GARDEN MURAL)

ARTISTS, PARENTS AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND JOIN US (even if not booked in) TO CREATE THE MURAL, LETS MAKE IT A FUN COMMUNITY EVENT TO START THE HOLIDAYS AND YOUR CHILDREN CAN COME AWAY WITH INDIVIDUAL WORKS INSPIRED BY THE TREES AND PLANTS OF THE ISLAND BY FIRST COLLECTING AND SKETCHING THEIR INDIVIDUAL PIECES TO THEN TRANSFER THEIR WORKS ONTO THE MURAL AND ALSO IMPRINT THEIR OWN SIGNATURES ON THE WALL..

THE MURAL WILL BE A WORKING PROGRESS THROUGHOUT THE HOLIDAYS

(we are calling out for donations of any old exterior paints especially white to mix with, brushes, paint tray's, sander, sand paper, buckets, ladders and scaffolding) (please also bring a paint apron or bring an old shirt to use as a paint smock),

  • TUESDAY 26TH SEPT - MOSAICS - CANCELLED (Due to insufficient numbers)
  • WEDNESDAY 27TH SEPT - GARDEN MURAL / PHOTOGRAPHY - OPEN
  • NIA DANCE - CANCELLED (Due to insufficient numbers)
  • THURSDAY 27TH SEPT - WILDLIFE DAY - CANCELLED (Due to insufficient numbers)
  • FRIDAY 28TH SEPT - CUBBIES, TEPEE'S, JUICE BAR & COOKING - CANCELLED (Due to insufficient numbers)

SIOCS WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK ON THE HOLIDAY CARE PROGRAM AND CREATIVE WORKSHOPS TO ACKNOWLEDGE IF THERE IS ANY DEMAND OR NEED FOR ANY FURTHER HOLIDAY CARE OR CREATIVE WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES TO BE HELD IN THE FUTURE

Kind regards

SIOCS Committee, Kindy community and staff

Missing Kayaks

I was advised last weekend that my yellow Mirage kayak and my old white estuary kayak had been taken off my jetty, ie 61 Richard Road. I'd arranged to collect them during the week.

Dick and I had a good search all around the island on Wednesday and I have spoken to the water police and the Council ranger. Neither has been picked up (therefore neither will be sold today at the pound)

If anyone can help with this matter please contact me
