The Mighty Manatees Command Performance (for my mother) at DaVinci's in Collegeville, PA two weeks ago was a rousing success. Uncle Ronkle did the sound & multi-track audio recording and camera-man Doug Wilson handled the filming. Manatees drummer Jim "Grampa" Cavanaugh had a camera set up on a tripod beside the stage. Amazingly, he managed to fit all 6 band members into a single shot! A Mighty First!: Next Thursday, June 3, The Mighty Manatees will be performing in the barn beside The Rising Sun in Telford, PA! This will be the first time the band has played this barn, and only the second time anyone has played there since it recently opened with it's own liquor license. Showtime is 8:00 sharp!
Manatee Fun Fact: Did you know that The Mighty Manatees will be playing a special 9/11 Patriot Day show at The Rising Sun barn this September with Mike Guldin and Rollin' & Tumblin'? It's true!
And speaking of barns....The Who Hill Family Campout 3-Day Festival will be held on the weekend of July 16, 17, & 18 and will feature Splintered Sunlight, Si Senorita and many other acts. The Mighty Manatees will perform outside on Saturday afternoon. For tickets & info call Annie at: 267-255-4318

A week later, on Friday, June 11, The Mighty Manatees play an outdoor happy hour tiki-bar charity fund-raiser at the Tex-Mex Connection in North Wales, PA. www.texmexconnection.com
We perform from 4:30 to 7:30 and then head off to the Bridgeport Rib-House in Bridgeport, PA www.ribhouse.net where we have an electric 6-piece show from 9:30 to 1:30. Sitting in on both shows will be saxophonist extraordinaire, Walter Tates Jr.
The next day, Sat., June 12 (new moon) The Mighty Manatees appear at The Sandtrap in Limerick, PA. www.limerickgolfclub.com My eldest daughter Jules will be making a road trip to the show from her new home in NYC in a van full of Dylan-Heads, aka "Bobsters" including: Prof. Walter Raubicheck (singer/songwriter/actor/writer), Brian Hassett (prankster-in-residence) and Chris from ABC News. Showtime is 9:30. Be there.
And speaking of Bobs...Manatees guitarist/vocalist "Beatle" Bob Tomlinson recently placed 3rd in a regional karaoke contest. Congrats Bob!
And speaking of congrats....Manatees friend and sometimes band-mate Brett Andrew was just asked to join The Robert Randolph Band. He will begin playing with them in June. Way to go Brett!
Manatees co-founder, singer/songwriter Ray Adkins' new 3-song promo CD just came out today! It is a sample of Ray's new solo CD which will be released in it's full version this summer. Manatees bassist/vocalist "Capt." Randy Wagner and I have some performance and songwriting credits on the album as well.
Don't forget that Sunday, June 13 is our first Fitzwater Station show of the year!
