1 Peter 1:18-19 Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

HOW DO WE KNOW THE VALUE OF A SOUL?

For several months I had been trying to sell our van. I had a price on it for what I thought it was worth. Yet by the time I sold it, the price had dropped by half. An item is worth exactly what someone will pay for it.

So what is a soul worth? Can we put a price on that? Yes, because God did. A soul is worth the holy, innocent blood of Jesus. That was what was needed to buy back souls from hell, and that was what was paid. So when the Lord looks at a person, He sees value. That is the same way that we should view every single person. No matter what impression we may have of a person, that individual is a blood-bought soul of Christ. That changes the way you look at your own life, and also the way in which you regard others.

If someone came into your life or into your church smelling of last night's drinking binge, would you go to talk to Him? If someone with so many piercings that he would set off a metal detector came to you with a problem, would you take the time to talk to him? If some men and women dressed in Arabic/Islamic garb approached you, what would your reaction be? Sometimes we might tend to make generalizations about people and whether or not they're worthy of God’s Word.
