Wow, Fall hit fast this year!! Not that we are complaining, we have been loving the cool mornings and the color changes happening in the trees all around us. For yarn lovers, Fall marks the beginning of pulling out those handknits and showing off your beautiful work. It also signals that it is time to pull out those needles, hooks, and looms and get started on those cold weather projects.

To further inspire you, we will be celebrating Malabrigo's 20th Anniversary all month long amping up to the Malabrigo Day Celebration on the 25th. Have a favorite Malabrigo project? Share it with us for a chance to win a Malabrigo prize pack.

New In The Shop

The Malabrigo Holiday Kits are here!!! We are really excited about the Entramado Hat & Cowl kit from Malabrigo and Blue Sky Fibers, knit with two of the softest, most luxurious yarns we carry. The kit comes with 3 skeins of Malabrigo Caprino, 1 skein of Blue Sky Prairie, and a code to download the pattern for both the hat and cowl. We love this set so much, Sarah made an alternate version so we will have them available in both the original colorway (Jardin Secreto, Neverland, and Whole Grain) and our selected colorway (Pines, Pascal, and Whole Grain.) This set would make a fantastic gift for yourself or others.

We absolutely love the resurgence of colorwork knitting patterns that are popping up everywhere. We have been carrying the Doodle Knit Directory for awhile now, but we just added the Doodle Knitting Card Decks to our selection.

Jamie Lomax of Pacific Yarn Co has been creating small, repeatable colorwork patterns, perfect for incorporating into projects, for a few years. Last year, she released the Doodle Knit Directory, a book with 200 of her colorwork motifs as well as nine base patterns for knitted accessories that you can mix and match her motifs into to make a truly one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your style. This month, she released a card deck with those same 200 designs to go with the Pacific Yarn Co. Doodle Decks you might already have. Whether you choose the book or the deck, we know you will have fun mixing and matching her designs (or maybe a few of your own) to create some fun, new accessories.

Introducing the new Zodiac Series from Emma's Yarn! As they follow the sun’s path through the cosmos throughout the next astrological year, they are releasing a Theme Pack and a Super Silky Trio for each of the twelve signs of the zodiac as they come up! We will have all 12 colorpacks and theme packs as they come out.

September 23rd marks the beginning of the seventh month of the astrological year, Libra. People born with the sun in Libra are said to be charming, generous, and caringEmma's Libra Theme Pack and Super Silky Trio taps into Libra’s loving nature that is ruled by Venus.

Looking for a project? We have a Ravelry Bundle full of ideas for using the Emma's Theme Packs. As for the colorpacks we think they would be wonderful in projects like the Gradient Lights Shawl by Laura Dobratz, the Triangulate Shawl by Carissa Browning, the Dreamstate Shawl by Lisa Mutch, or the Bunting Shawl by Hailey Bailey
The October Crazy Beautiful Color of the month from Emma's Yarns is pumpkin spice and everything nice! This gourd-geous tonal orange colorway captures the essence of autumn leaves and crisp October days.

As usual, the color plays well with a huge variety of coordinating colors! Pictured here (top to bottom) with Heavy Pour, Take A Hike, Foxy Lady, Roasted, Oh My Gourd, Hammered, Golden Hour, and Tangerine Mist.

Toe up, cuff down, dpns, magic loop, flat, or even crochet, all socks are welcome.  Each person will pick their own pattern that falls in the category of socks and we will knit/crochet them together.

Robyn created a Ravelry bundle with several pattern ideas if you need some help finding the perfect pattern. She is also available if you need help finding a pattern for a particular yarn.

All ReBelle knit alongs are free and open to the public. You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the KAL sessions as you like.

Mosaic Cowl

Mosaic Knitting is very hot right now and for good reason. This colorwork technique only uses one color per row, but looks much more complicated making it a great introduction to colorwork. The Godey Cowl by Alison Green was designed using one of Berroco's Lana Light color sets (which comes packed in a canvas project bag with a code for this cowl and four other patterns,) but can also be knit using a mini skein set or a bright variegated yarn with a contrasting second for a stained glass effect. The sample is in fingering weight knit on 16” US5 circular needles.

In this class, you will be using Rye Worsted, a Tin Can Knits beginning sock pattern (free on Ravelry), with worsted weight yarn that is knit at a tight gauge (22st/4 inches). OR, if you want to knit your socks on fingering weight yarn, Susan will help you knit Rye Sock. We love this pattern because it has great diagrams and tutorials that really help a first time sock knitter move from newbie to expert in no time! With Susan's help, you're gonna have the snazziest looking feet in Lexington. Never fear socks again!
