Bookshop
West Portal announces a new series of Sunday Morning Yoga classes with
local instructor Linda Wertheim.
A resident of West Portal, Linda has been teaching in the neighborhood
since 2000. She was first introduced to yoga in 1968 and has been
attending classes for nearly 20 years, with emphasis on Iyengar and
Vinyasa flow techniques.
Linda's one-hour session is offered Sundays at 8:30 a.m., before the
store
opens for business. Spacious and comfortable, Bookshop West Portal offers
a
relaxing environment for yoga students of all levels. Owner Neal Sofman
refers to the ongoing classes as "gentle yoga" because students
are encouraged to progress at their own pace and receive instruction
based
on their individual needs.
Yoga is also offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. with Elisa
Collins. All yoga classes are $14 per session and drop-in students are
welcome. Students should bring their own mat.
Located at 80 West Portal Avenue, Bookshop West Portal strives to meet
the
changing needs of the community. In addition to offering shoppers a wide
array of books and gifts, Bookshop West Portal presents author readings, writing
workshops and ongoing classes in knitting and yoga, as well as Storytime, for
children young and old.
