Hello Everyone!

The PECCADILLO gang 'partied' (and had cake) last night at the launch party for the 26th BFI LONDON LESBIAN & GAY FILM FESTIVAL. More about our films in the festival and the festival itself further down - so keep reading!

From one festival to the next. We attended the BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL and acquired new films we're sure you'll love. If we could sum up the films we would say 'controversial, sci-fi, vogue, Dolly Parton'. Got your interest? Thought so.

PECCADILLO FILMS AT LLGFF 2012
We’re proud to announce our line-up in this year’s BFI London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival (LLGFF).

Previously shown at the 55th London Film Festival last year, OLIVER HERMANUS’ BEAUTY, a dark tale of envy, love and obsession will play once again before its April 20th release date.

In the spirit of 'Paris Is Burning', SHELDON LARRY's audacious, raunchy and big-hearted musical, LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR, will also be showing in the festival, as will NORTH SEA TEXAS, which has been selected as the closing night film!

Peccadillo attended the launch party last night where attendees were shown a presentation of some of the films in the festival. The presentation included scenes from LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR and NORTH SEA TEXAS, which were met with positive reaction. Many people came up to us expressing their interest in our films in the festival and we were so overwhelmed that one glass of wine each just wasn’t enough, and a few slices of cake (which was pretty impressive in size – and taste) just had to be eaten.

British romance WEEKEND will back on the big screen during the festival as part of THE BEST OF THE YEAR, which showcases - and allows you another chance to see - the best of the last 12 months of gay cinema.

The festival is in its 26th year and will take place between 23rd March through to the 1st April at the BFI Southbank. For full listing of films and times, visit the BFI’s site for more information here.

BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL 2012 – PECCADILLO ADDS NEW FILMS TO 2012 SLATE

It was a busy Berlin Film Festival for team PECCADILLO this year having acquired a range of titles from a film about Dolly Parton to Italian horror! We are proud to announce that we will be releasing this year’s Panorama Opening film, KUMA by director UMUT DAG and LARRY SHELDON’s contemporary musical about the underground Los Angeles ballroom scene, LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR  inspired by cult classic PARIS IS BURNING

Further titles include Italian science-fiction cult film, THE ARRIVAL OF WANG, RIOT GIRLS and THE YEAR DOLLY PARTON WAS MY MUM.  Peccadillo boss TOM ABELL says that "these titles display a diverse range of film-making which signifies yet another direction for Peccadillo Pictures in 2012. We're proud to be adding these films to our slate and feel they represent the diverse nature of our company."

Peccadillo's current cinema slate includes last year's Berlin film festival entry SHE MONKEYS, Cannes 2011 Queer Palme winner BEAUTY, LLGFF Closing Night Film NORTHSEA TEXAS and French romance, ANGEL AND TONY.

HOMOSEXUAL PROPOGANDA LAW IN RUSSIA
The office received an email this week about a law that may be passed in Russia over the coming months.  Law makers in Russia's cultural capital of Saint Petersburg are about to pass a legislation that would make it a "crime" to write a book, publish an article or speak in public about being gay, lesbian, bi or transgender – labelling this as "homosexual propaganda”.

In rebellion, people have started a protest against the governor (the man with the power to veto the bill) to let him know that if the law advances, no money will be spent on tourism in Saint Petersburg.

Major governments have condemned the bill, and unfortunately, calls and petitions have not been able to put a stop to this preposterous law in the past.

If you feel strongly for this cause, sign this letter to the governor, and ask your friends and colleagues to do the same. With only a few more days left to the final vote, every single one counts!

COMPETITION - LIFE, ABOVE ALL
This week we’re giving away best-selling novel CHANDA’S SECRETS by Allan Stratton. The book was adapted into award-winning film, LIFE, ABOVE ALL which we released early last year.

The book – and film – tells the story of Chanda who learns of a rumor that spreads like wildfire through her small, dust-ridden village near Johannesburg. It destroys her family and forces her mother to flee. Sensing that the gossip stems from prejudice and superstition, Chanda leaves home and school in search of her mother and the truth.

We have 3 books to give away, so to simply get your hands on one answer the following question:
