Colossians 3:3-4 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST IS HIDDEN FOR A TIME
This is hard for us as human beings to grasp, and I would say impossible for unbelievers to understand. Though that new life with Christ is very concrete and very real your life is hidden with Christ in God. An unbeliever might say, "How are you any different from me? When you are cut you bleed. You get sick. You get in car accidents. The time will come when you will die. You're no different than me." You won't see a halo over a believer's head like you see in older paintings. Yet through faith we believe God when He says that we are spiritually alive in Christ.
It will become clear down the road. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. On the Last Day there will be no question about this new life. All believers will appear with Christ in glory. There will be no question that the new life in heaven will be superior to the former things of this earth. Take a look in Revelation and other books of the Bible which describe heaven as paradise where there is no more tears, pain, sin, or death.
Yet even right now that new life in Christ is superior. You have peace with God. You have a heavenly Father. You have a brother in Jesus. You have access to the Creator of the world. You are given a foretaste of the new life above by having the peace of God even now on this earth.
