Psalm 146:2 I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

LIKE A RIVER

When we think about how the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them, came down from heaven in order to be our help and our hope --

When we remember how He cares for the lowliest of His children, whom He has reconciled to Himself at such great cost --

When we become aware of how He will not let Satan oppress us, even if it costs Him His own Son --

When we remember all that He has done for our earthly and especially for our eternal welfare, giving food to the hungry, freedom to prisoners, sight to the blind --

When we realize that He remembers even those who are brought low by the troubles of this life, and that He lifts them up like a tender Father picking up His dear child --

When we call to mind how the gift of His righteousness extends to the youngest and to the oldest of His children --

Then we will want the whole course of our life, wherever it may flow, however full it may flow, to gush forth nothing but praise to the Lamb of God, whose doing and dying has made God into our Friend forever, and has given us life for death, joy for sorrow, peace for pain! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

From morn till eve my theme shall be
Thy mercy's wondrous measure;
To sacrifice myself for Thee
Shall be my aim and pleasure.
My stream of life shall ever be
A current flowing ceaselessly,
Thy constant praise outpouring.
I'll treasure in my memory,
O Lord, all Thou hast done for me,
Thy gracious love adoring.
