Psalm 22:28 And before His face, all the families of the nations bow down.
ALL FAMILIES OF THE NATIONS
The will and desire of God is "not the death of the sinner" but that "all should come to a knowledge of the truth." This will and holy desire was carried out in the life of our Lord Jesus. He brought about righteousness and peace, and restored the good will between God and all of humanity. Jesus is "The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."
Jesus did come into the world as a Jew, lived as a Jew, preached primarily to the Jews. He died at the hands of the Jews. This fact does not exclude anyone who is not a Jew according to the flesh--that is the Gentile nations. The promise of deliverance was given to Adam and Eve, who were not descendants of Abraham. The promise was given to Abraham before he received the sign of the Old Testament covenant. For Abraham believed the promises of God and through that faith he was counted as righteous. The holy invisible Church of our Lord Jesus began with Adam and Eve and is built on faith. All nations, all families of the nations, are declared not guilty when Jesus cried, "It is finished." Through the Word that faith is given and one then receives the blessings of Jesus' work.
Do all families of the nations believe? No. Are there believers among all the nations? Most likely, though God alone knows. Yet even though not all believe, it in no way contradicts the will of God nor the words here written in this verse. For it is certain that the day will come and is coming when these words, "And before His face, all the families of the nations bow down" will be fulfilled. That day is the day of the Lord, the day of final Judgment when all shall see Him who was pierced. Then everyone will confess that Jesus is in fact the Lord. For those who while on earth do not believe nor confess such, their confession on the day of Judgment will be too late in coming. For us who do believe and do confess, that day and our confession will be one of eternal joy, and we shall know the greatness and fullness of our Lord's glory.
