Greenway Design Group President Explains Cool-n-Save's Attraction

One key attraction is Cool-n-Save's ability to earn substantial energy savings for air conditioning. Equally attractive is the unusually quick customer's return on investment generated from substantial energy savings

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Greenway Design Group, Inc. (GDGI) president and chairman Ben Lefrancois today explained how the company calculates their customers' return on investment from the purchase of Cool-n-Save pre-cool misting systems for commercial air conditioning.

"The customer's return on investment is an estimate of the balance between the energy savings generated and the first year cost of the Cool-n-Save system, which includes the cost of new equipment, installation, and the first year of maintenance," Lefrancois explains.

"Our most popular Cool-n-Save configuration, the Hero-50 pump/filter system, including the first year to replace water filters and chemistry, may cost our customer between $15,000 and $25,000. Installation details determine final cost: distance from water and power supply, number and distance between condensing coils, and other factors. The other side of the equation is the estimated energy savings. Most of Greenway's customers see between 22 to 33% reduction in energy use from air conditioning. For a nominal Hero-50 installation, we'd expect the monthly energy reduction to be between $1,250 and $2,000," he says.

Actual energy reduction (savings) depends on the condition of the HVAC equipment, climate, and the number of air conditioning months. For that reason, each Cool-n-Save system must be custom configured. "We chose from four different Cool-n-Save pump/misting models and deploy them to ensure the most economical situation possible," says Lefrancois.

Since Greenway dealers perform all maintenance, the estimate includes estimated labor and the purchase price of proprietary filtration supplies from the company based on an expected schedule. "The cost of expendables, like our Cool Release water treatment chemistry and nano filters, is determined by water quality and system usage."

Lefrancois points out that the company focus on customer's "return on investment" is a very strong draw. "Although the ROI calculation is only an estimate and not a guarantee, our customers see that there is a point where they may recoup their cost," he says. According to Greenway's customer records, the fastest ROI was 3 months, generated by a large data storage and networking facility in Las Vegas, NV.

About GDGI
Greenway Design Group, Inc. is the innovator of Cool-n-Save® - a unique invention that significantly reduces energy consumption of conventional air conditioning systems. It works by lowering the temperature of the air around air conditioning condensing coils that sit on the rooftops of hundreds of thousands of commercial buildings all over the world. “Pre-cooled” air allows the AC system to use as much as 30% less energy. Buildings and homes cool faster and owners save on reduced energy and maintenance cost. On June of 2011, Greenway Design Group was awarded TechAmerica's 18th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards for “Green Engineering,” co-sponsored by Harvey Mudd College. The award was given to Greenway in recognition for the company’s work on energy-saving evaporative pre-cool misting technology for commercial and residential central air conditioning systems. Greenway Design Group has sold more than 16,000 homeowner “kits” that feature its patented technology. The company has also sold and installed hundreds of large-scale commercial systems throughout the U.S. Recently, the company installed systems in Costa Rica. Greenway Design Group Announces Installation for Korea Telecom

Korea Telecom, South Korea's largest provider of local telephone and high-speed Internet access, has confirmed an order to install Cool-n-Save pre-cool systems on three of their data storage and networking facilities as a precursor to a nation-wide installation program.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenway Design Group, Inc. (GDGI) today confirmed that its dealer in South Korea has received an order to install Cool-n-Save systems on three Korea Telecom data storage and networking facilities located in Suwan, Osan, and Seoul.
"We are aware of the energy-saving capabilities of Cool-n-Save on air conditioning," says Jeong Ho Kim, the Director of Korea Telecom's Gyongbuk Corporate Business Center. "We are looking forward to a successful completion of the test as a precursor to deploying Cool-n-Save technology to Korea Telecom facilities throughout South Korea."
According to the dealer and Greenway engineers, the test phase requires immediate onsite installation on Korea Telecom buildings in Suwan and Osan, and later in Seoul. Based on earlier field tests in South Korea, the expected cost savings from reduced energy usage is expected to be 22% of current air conditioning energy costs, with an estimated return on investment of about 12 months (energy savings versus cost of installation, plus equipment and first year maintenance). Korea Telecom estimates that 500 buildings may be part of the nation-wide Cool-n-Save installation program.
"Our dealer came to us with a proposal to launch tests with several major businesses in South Korea. This is the first order; we foresee more in the very near future," says Darius Jakubik, the senior vice president of Greenway. "This operation is part of a larger effort to expand sales beyond our usual seasonal experience in the United States, both in terms of equipment and regular maintenance required for the Cool-n-Save system. We anticipate that foreign markets offer a full year sales opportunity for the company."
Korea Telecom, known in South Korea as KT Corporation, has the largest portion of the South Korean local telephone and high-speed internet business. The company recently launched new business and consumer services that requires expansion of their networking and data storage capabilities.
Greenway markets their pre-cool technology under the trademark "Cool-n-Save." Independent studies field studies (in Nevada and Costa Rica) show that Cool-n-Save evaporative pre-cooling systems may produce energy cost savings as high as 30%, with an average savings of about 26% from air conditioning use during peak heat seasons. The company has been developing pre-cool misting technology since 2005. Greenway received a "green engineering" award co-sponsored by TechAmerica and Harvey Mudd College in 2011.
