Busy here around Flatpik Central getting everything ready for the Best Kamp Ever!
Today is the perfect day to get
registered for the big 2022 Kamp.
This year's Kamp is looking so exciting with an incredible staff both returning and new. If you are attending to Kamp this year, be easy on the new instructors. They are great and we want them to come back.
Many new, never been to Kamp, Kampers (students) coming in this year. Many returning Kamp Alumni from all across America. We are also welcoming back some of our international friends of Kamp from Italy, Ireland, England, Canada to name a few. This will be a great year.
All classes are still available with the exception of Bluegrass Rhythm Guitar.
We will be having our Kamp Kontra Dance the first week of Kamp on Wednesday June 15.
This, like each night's concerts, are open to the public. Tickets for the concerts are $15 each night and the Kontra Dance is the low, low price of $7.00. Tim Klien will call the night and the world famous Kamp Kontra Dance Band will amaze us with their dance music.

We hope you all are well and staying busy working on those calluses. Getting them toughened up and getting ready for summer jamming.

World's Greatest Summer Music Kamp Experience!
Kamp work keeps me busy. Planning your days and parts of your nights, Meetings with hotels, food venders, instructor discussions and more.
We are getting 5-12 Kamp registrations every day and it usually gets real busy after folks file their taxes and know what they will be getting back.
So we are ready for you.
We will use the same class format as last year. If you pick an instrument with one instructor (Songwriting, Old Time Singing etc) you stay with that instructor all week. If you choose an instrument with two or more instructors, you will rotate between them with the exception of Hammered Dulcimer and Mountain Dulcimer. Beginners will work with Janis and Linda and the Intermediate/Advanced students will work with Rick and Joe. All others will see all teachers.
We will have more Master's Classes this year. This is a new name. The long name - Classes With the Masters. This is where you can choose to see any instructor of any instrument no matter what level of playing you possess. This is a limited size class. Limited to eight students at a time but there are several of these sessions. This is for the person that brings one instrument for their main class but wants to have lessons from another instrument's instructor. This is a golden opportunity for all the students.
No Masks are required at Kamp or Maryville College. Use them if you feel more comfortable. Hand sanitizing stations will be available.
Kawanis will again be on hand for light lunch thingies on Check In Day. Be prepared though, There is no food service on campus until 5pm Dinner
Kamp Housing:
Kamp registrations are coming in everyday. As mentioned in a previous E-Blast, we are doing the Kamp room housing assignments. The rooms are on a first come first serve basis.
We lost Carnegie Hall as a dorm. That was a loss of about 140 rooms. We will use Lloyd, Pearsons and some of Beeson. After they are filled we move on to Copeland and Gamble Hall. Because there is SO MUCH to do to get ready for the Greatest Summer Music Kamp in the world, we have to do this as students register. When you register, you will see your tentative room assignment in the Registration Letter that comes via email.
NEW CLASSES: We will begin a new Hammered Dulcimer, Mountain Dulcimer, Old Time Fiddle, Old Time Banjo program where we will have two separate levels. One Beginner Group and One Intermediate and Advanced Group. This way all the levels are not in one class and we are sure it will make a better class for all. Fingerstyle will do the same.
We have sooo many classes to offer for all levels. Even a level for folks that think they are not ready for a Kamp called Beginner 101.
If you've been before, you know that this is the Best Kamp to come to. If you've never been, it's time to give it a go. You will have a blast starting when you arrive to your misty eyes when you leave.
