NIKKI SMITH-PORTER To Host Fundraising Concert
Pittsburgh's own Gospel singer, songwriter and recording artist Nikki Smith-Porter will perform in concert on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 250 N. Highland Ave. Nikki will be the featured artist along with special guests; "The Remnant" Travel Choir of Mount Ararat Baptist Church, spoken word artist Ranika Chaney and the Eastminster Church praise team.
This event promises to be a great time of worship, praise and fellowship. The concert is free; however, a freewill offering will be received. Proceeds from this event will support Nikki's music ministry as she prepares to record her debut solo Gospel album.
Nikki, known for her melodious yet powerful voice, has appeared as an opener for numerous national gospel recording artists, most recently Kirk Franklin and Donald Lawrence at Soldiers and Sailors Auditorium. Prior to that, she performed at the Byham Theater in the hit gospel music stage play "The Bold and The Sanctified" portraying First Lady Lotts. She has recorded and toured internationally with the Golden Gospel Singers and was guest soloist on local recordings with Mt. Ararat Baptist Church ("Glory to God") and Frederick J. Dukes ("Lord, Place My Heart"). Now she plans to record her own solo album.
