A Window On Iceland opening 29th November is Francine Davies’ biggest solo exhibition to date taking place at The Embassy Of Iceland. The 4 months will consist of entirely new and unseen works inspired by the artists recent trip to Iceland.  
Davies’ work primarily features coast lines and sea scapes.  The exhibition will present over 50 works on canvas that aim to capture the beauty, energy, geology, meteorology, geomorphology of Iceland.   
The artist strives to reflect a strong connection and interest in climate change and aims to use this exhibition as a vehicle for change and awareness in this ever increasingly important area of debate.
This beautiful country (Iceland)  represents the stage of development at which a civilised world should stop, learn and listen. People are focused on understanding the natural world that surrounds them and of which they are a part , which allows them to work with it rather than against it. Most of the developed world is still carving up landscapes, driven by a mindset that sees nature as something that must be controlled, harnessed and exploited to meet the needs of the people inhabiting it.  Iceland on the other hand felt like a country that was not guided by fear, despite the harshness of the environment, but by a more sensitive, intelligent response, working with its own limitations and those posed by the natural world around them. Francine Davies. 
In her home country of Wales Davies is represented by Off the Wall Art Gallery in Cardiff.

Earlier in London this year Davies has exhibited with Art Below who featured her landscapes across billboard space at Hyde Park tube station and at Regent’s Park tube station.  This coincided with her taking part in two group exhibitions at Herrick Gallery as part of Mayfair Art Week in July 2018 and at Anemoi Art in Mayfair during Frieze Week, October 2018. 
For her Iceland Exhibition Art Below will be featuring an image of one of her Iceland paintings as a billboard poster at Hyde Park tube station for two weeks from 14th January 2019 for two weeks.  
A donation from the profits of this exhibition will go towards the RR81 Fund.

FRANCINE DAVIES: Fieldwork observation of colour, texture, patterns, processes and composition alongside experimentation and spontaneity are fundamental to her work. RR81 FUND:  This is a legacy fund which was set up in Rhys Rubery’s name who sadly passed away aged 16 after an awful accident in July 2016. In his memory his family and close friends have created a legacy fund, to upgrade and establish new educational facilities in Rhys’ school. Carrying on his willingness to achieve anything that he set his mind to, and leaving a true legacy to remember him by.

ICELAND EMBASSY:  The Embassy of Iceland in London is the diplomatic mission of Iceland in the United Kingdom. It occupies a large, modern building designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen which it shares with the Embassy of Denmark, completed in 1977. There has been an Icelandic embassy in the UK since 1940
