A featured product will be the new MT5000 Guided Wave Radar level transmitter, the first guided wave technology to feature an integral, built-in scope to make setting up the transmitter a snap!
Speaker: Peter Taylor  -   BHD Instrumentation (Ontario) Limited
Peter has over 25 years experience in providing hands on training and support to the process, chemical and electronics industry. Peter's addiction to gadgets extends beyond the workplace to his three favourite hobbies, amateur radio, digital photography and repairing home computers. Some folks pity him for working all day with gadgets, then coming home only to work with more gadgets. His wife says “at least I know where he is at night” and his two grown kids have been bitten by the gadget bug too. They just keep encouraging the old man so that they will get first dibs on his hand-me-downs.

Standards & Practices News

Standards &
PracticesDear Members, Colleagues and Friends,

(1)
ISA has released a new standard, ANSI/ISA-99.00.01-2007, Security for Industrial Automation and Control Systems Part 1: Terminology, Concepts, and Models. This document is the first in a series of ISA standards that addresses cyber security for industrial automation and control systems. The standard focuses on key concepts, terminology and models, and will serve as a foundation for additional ISA99 series standards currently in development.

(2)  ANSI/ISA-TR99.00.01-2007, Security Technologies for Industrial Automation and Control Systems technical report has been updated. The report provides recommendations and guidance for using cyber security technology products and countermeasures in automation and control systems

(3)  A new initiative undertaken by ISA related to the work of the ISA99 committee is ISASecure. The ISA Security Compliance Institute will identify and promote security standards-compliant products and systems automation and control applications. Compliant products or systems will be entitled to carry the ISASecure designation, providing instant recognition of the security characteristics to plant owners, integrators, and the public.

With Thanks,
    Glen Taylor
