Wednesday 7 June

Next Wednesday we welcome George Robertson back to BPS. George will be presenting his talk entitled The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

This is a photographic journey onto the roof of Africa following two of the main trekking routes to the summit. Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 5895m or 19,340ft. It is also the world's highest freestanding mountain and still classed as an active volcano. George has been fortunate to summit on this mountain on multiple occasions and his images are drawn from these trips. The journey begins on the dusty plains of Tanzania and makes it way through the many varied vegetation zones on the mountain to the summit glaciers.
The routes we follow are on opposite side of the mountain and will give an insight into the differences in terrain. The talk has a mix of travel, people, flora, adventure and landscape images as we make our way up the mountain.
Visit George's website to read more about him and his photography.

DI Group - Monday 12 June, 7.30pm
The next DI group meeting is on 12 June. The meeting is open to all BPS members. This is a gentle reminder to all members that it is an ideal opportunity to share your images with fellow members. You may want to get a second opinion at the DI meeting from your fellow members or you might just enjoy showing off your work and experiments in an informal atmosphere.

When you are ready please email your images for presentation to reach me by 6pm-ish  Sunday, 11 June. Images: JPG format, sRGB colour space, 1600 x 1200 pixels (same as competitions but not strict). If you wish to show them in a specific order, please prefix filenames with 01, 02, 03 etc. Email attachment size - max 20Mb per email, as many as necessary. You may also use WeTransfer or Dropbox if convenient, but I am not equipped to receive by direct transfers from Google or Apple Mac systems.
