Cartooning for Beginners Workshops
Free demos on Saturday, April 2
Do you enjoy drawing and doodling? Have you ever thought about becoming a cartoonist?
We are very excited to be offering a new series of beginning cartooning workshops here at BookShop West Portal! Come by and meet local cartoonist Cara Goldstein, who will give three free 30-minute demonstrations on Saturday, April 2nd, at 10:15 am, 12:15 pm, and 3:15 pm.
Goldstein, who was awarded the Yale University National Teacher Fellowship last year, will begin teaching workshops on Saturday, April 9th. She will give instruction on character development, movement, expression, storyboarding, inking, and coloring. Lessons will include demos, worksheets, and examples of cartoonists. The culmination of this class is the start of your own personal comicbook! Materials are included in the fee.

Goldstein has taught at SOTA and in the California Public Schools for over five years. Her mentor, Al Baruch, is the creator of Captain Hook in Peter Pan for Disney.
