Baja Insider Update

June 17, 2011

Dear BajaInsider Subscriber:

The Eastern Pacific had the first tropical cyclone of the year this past week, Hurricane Adrian. Adrian powered the season off to a big start, becoming a Category 4 Major Hurricane before moving off into the Pacific and dissipating without making a landfall. A storm this powerful is rare the first week of June and in this issue's Hurricane Watch Report we look at what that may mean for later in the season when Baja really has to look south for our Baja Weather.

As editor, I would personally like to thank our sponsors at ACV Imports for their fine service. An expensive shipment of mine suffered damage at the hands of another carrier and the good folks at ACV went out of their way to help resolve the issue. If you need items imported and trucked up or down the peninsula, please tell ACV we sent you!

Recently, a judicial decision has potentially reversed the protected status of Bahia Balandra, just north of La Paz. The property holders have already surveyed the beautiful location for development. If you have ever visited this unique and magical location or hope to see it before it vanishes we encourage you to sign the petition to Save Balandra! There are just some places that deserve to remain wild.

For those that are driving Baja we have a top to bottom Baja Road Report and if you wish to sink the hook, we update our fishing reports weekly.

So, without further ado... here are the latest stories on the BajaInsider!
