We are wrapping up junior testing for about 95% of juniors. Some will need to make up tests or finish but most are done! Wahoo!!!

MPH is hiring 15 year olds and above for summer work. I've known the owners, Jon and Karla my entire life and I would trust my 15 year old with them in a heart beat. If you have a teenager looking for work, you can send him/her to me and I will provide your student with contact information.

Senior Parents: This is the time of year when seniors start to waiver on their post-high school decisions. The "real world" is knocking and some don't want to answer the door. That is normal. They may subtly bring it up in conversation. The best thing you can do is listen. In 99% of the cases, he/she will come back to the plans they have made. They are just wanting to vet their ideas. I really liked those conversations when my oldest went through that stage. It showed me that my son was growing up and thinking critically about his future. I miss those late night conversations. If your senior is struggling with decision making, please remember that we have our College Counselor who is able to help guide their decision process. Ms. Erlewein is awesome and the kids like her. She will always make time for your senior.

Thursday night is the League Talent Show. It starts at 6:30. Admission is free.

Just as a parental reminder. Tomorrow is 4/20 which is commonly referred to as the "Marijuana Holiday." The 4/20 reference goes back to the 1970s and there are many articles on it. It is a good excuss to talk about parental expectations surrounding marijuana use. Research is beginning to show even casual use as a teenager can greatly increase schizophrenia risks as an adult. One study showed risk being increased by a multiple of 6 for adult development of schizophrenia for teens using marijuana! There are many articles on the subject but I included one below.

Spring sports are going strong. The weather doesn't feel like spring but the kids are still playing. They'd love to have your support.

NC Gears, our Newaygo County Robotics team, is off to the World Championships. We wish them good luck!
