***Next Independent Laboratory Testing Committee Meeting

The upcoming division agenda has not been released yet but will most likely include discussions and hopefully decisions about cultivation pesticide use, heavy metals, standardization across labs, and discussion about methodology for edibles testing.  The next meeting will be Wednesday April 1st at 3:30PM at 3811 West Charleston Ste. 112 Las Vegas, NV at the same location as last meeting.

 

***Current Nevada MJ Legislation

Here is a link to the current revisions to Nevada’s NRS 453A and the existing Cannabis laws.  There are many reasons why MMEs should get behind this legislation including transferability of the ownership interest up to 49 percent, then up to 100 percent after 3 years. (Section 35 Page 50)

 

 

***Cannabis In Nevada – Your Opinion is Important

I am doing an anonymous marketing survey for Nevada MMEs, so I can get a better understanding of what patients want from MMEs, once they are open.  This data will be published into an article once I feel I have a representative sample.  Please answer the survey if you use cannabis as medicine.

***CNN National News with WECAN

Recently CNN was filming a WECAN patient party last Sunday, along with interviews conducted on Monday, which will be bringing national attention to WECAN, along with cannabis in Nevada for an upcoming special they are doing on marijuana.  Let us hope that a positive light is painted for cannabis in Nevada and our support for patients comes through on CNN. 

 

 

***Nightclub & Bar Convention March 30^th 2015 – Why is this relevant to cannabis industry?

I will be attending the Nightclub and Bar Convention on March 30^th, 2015 to further my education.  All MMEs, especially dispensaries can benefit from some of the same marketing techniques and retail management that nightclubs currently employ.  I will be doing an all-day training on nightclub security, which will be relevant information to the monitoring of cannabis in all MME facilities and also assuring customer safety.  Some of the topics include: Powers to Arrest and Citizen's Detention, Conflict Resolution and Legal Limits to Using Force, Criminal, Civil and Administrative Liabilities, Recognition of Fake and False Identification, Recognition and Usage of Club Drugs & Narcotics, and Disaster and Terrorism Awareness.

***Vegas Cannabis Magazine Letter Published

I appreciate Vegas Cannabis Magazine for publishing my letter to them with regards to my encouragement of patients to get behind legal dispensaries, instead of illegal delivery services. When labs can get open, then dispensaries can take cannabis from patients along with cultivation facilities - providing needed tax money along with jobs to Nevadans.

***WECAN 702 Radio Show & Please Help Us

We are in need of more individuals connected into the cannabis industry to interview for our broadcast radio show (30-40,000 listenership reach) and YouTube channel.  Please contact (Beach@wecan702.org) if interested.  We would like to switch the show over to a FM format but this will cost $5,000 a month to reach all of these cannabis consumers and to also educate the community.  We would welcome a partner that would pick up a significant amount of this cost and in return receive the majority of advertisement of their MME or brand.    This would get the word out about your NV MME facility and also help with branding.  Our WECAN facebook has over 127,947 likes with 40,762 reached.  We want to help connect you with the cannabis patient community.  We can also give you a tax receipt because WECAN is a non-profit.
