In The News...

Here are two of Lori's Dayton Daily News columns that take the mystery out of organizing:

The second week in October is “National Home-Based Business Week.”  Why not spend the week getting your home office organized?!

A great way to start is to define some business goals. Do you want to make more money, procure more clients, quit earlier in the day or all of the above?

Now look around your office and see what items are in your way and keeping you from attaining your goals.

Perhaps you’re tripping over your child’s toys? Maybe your personal papers are strewn about? What about items that attract family members into your office, cause interruptions and keep you from completing your work?

Eliminating those things that keep you from working will help you accomplish your business goals and help you gain time for your personal interests too.

Hide and Seek...

If you find yourself buying decorations for Halloween every year because the ones hidden in your storage area are too hard to find. May I suggest you do less decorating and more organizing this year?

Too many times you purchase decorations similar to the ones you already own because digging them out of your storage area is too much trouble. Unfortunately, whenever you need to retrieve something you stored away, all those piled up, duplicate items are causing you to feel frustrated and defeated.

Taking the time to organize now will make it easier to find what you need the next time you go searching. It will also allow you to take inventory on what you do own so you can save money on unnecessary purchases.

Treat yourself to an organized storage area. Pare down to the decorations you love and donate those you no longer use. You’ll enjoy easy-to-find decorations for years to come.

Just Hit Reply...

“Just Hit Reply’ to this email if you know of any organizations that are collecting items for their fundraising efforts. Many times people are willing to part with their items if they know someone else needs their once loved possessions and castoffs.
