Newsletter Meet Kate Foundation
Kelly and Mark in Ghana
Last week, the employees of Meet Kate made a visit to the 2,5 hectares of farmland that is  property of the foundation.
Kelly and researcher Sammy will write a plan on how to best use this piece of land and how it can contribute to the sustainability of the Children’s Home. Sammy will look into what crops are best suitable for this type of land, and what crops are useful for the Children’s Home and for sale.

The Meet Kate Children’s Home
Last week one of the kids in the Children’s Home was placed back with her family! Sheila’s parents are back together and are therefore able to care for her again. Although we’ll miss Sheila, we’re very happy she is back with her family again. If you’d like to know who Sheila is, check out this diva on our website.

We also got a car for the transportation of the children. Now, we can take them to school and on our way back pick up the children for the daycare center! Furthermore, all residents of the Children’s Home can attend church again and can join in fun and informative trips!

Trip
Monday March 7th, we took all the children to the beach. This was made possible by Spring Childcare in Helmond who initiated a fundraiser last year. All children aged 4 and 5 had to make a drawing of what they would like the children at the MKCH to have. Meet Kate chose four favourites and let its followers vote. Most votes went to a day at the beach, which could be financed by the sale of the drawings!

For most children at the MKCH, it was the first time they even saw the beach, and they really enjoyed it! Swimming, playing in the sand and enjoying a delicious lunch. Click here to see the pictures!

Meet Kate wants you to meet...
Every newsletter, we introduce to you someone in one of our projects. This can be one of the children, a student, teacher or employee. This month we’d like you to meet
Steve Amoaka,  secretary of the Meet Kate Children’s Home. Philo and Steve have become close friends through church. Steve is well known to both Ghana’s and Western customs, so he can help build a bridge between both cultures.

New children!

Last month, two new children came to the Children’s Home. Jojo (4) and Vivian (9) have already adapted perfectly and are really enjoying themselves!
Read more about both of them (bottom of the page).

This month, we’d like to thank Geske and Lienke! They came to visit us at the Children’s Home to experience being there, and they brought a lot of things! Mosquito nets, notebooks, pens and a lot of toys were handed out to the children!
