Hello Firstname

A Christmas Message From The Palace
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who in any way have helped run the Society over the last year and all those of you who turn up each week and make the Society what it is, a fun and enjoyable place to be on a Wednesday evening. I really appreciate the atmosphere of friendship and fun that for me is such an important feature of our meetings.

Best wishes and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2015 to you all.

Millie
Chairman (or should that be Chairperson?)

Christmas Break
This is the last issue of the newsletter until the New Year, so Carol & I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Wednesday 17 December
Next Wednesday is the last meeting of the year and is the social event of the season - the BPS Christmas Social. Members are asked to bring along a small amount of festive fodder (either solid or liquid) which will be put on the banqueting table for all to consume. Please come along and enter into the festive spirit, this is a good opportunity for the newer members to get to know and chat to some of the older fogies in the Society and for the older fogies to get to chat to someone under 60!

WCPF - DPIC
The 2015 WCPF Digital Projected Image Competition (DPIC) takes place at Exeter Corn Exchange on Sunday 8 February. This is a competition between the 55 camera clubs in the WCPF region, with each submitting 18 images. These are judged in rounds by a panel of 3 eminent judges with the top 2 overall clubs being selected to represent the WCPF at the National Interclub Competition which is held at Warwick in July.
Tickets are £6 and can be booked on line by following this link or by telephoning 01392 665938, between 0930-1630, Monday to Friday. Full details can be found by clicking here or by visiting the WCPF website at wcpf.org.uk

WCPF Members' Exhibition
The 2015 WCPF Members' Exhibition will be open for entries from 2nd January until 7th March. The entry website is currently being set up and invitation emails will be sent out to all previous entrants later in December.
The Members' Exhibition is one the highlights of the WCPF year, where 100 + of the best prints, plus all accepted projected images are on display to the public for two weeks in May. The exhibition will once again be shown at Buckfast Abbey as it has proved so popular with visitors and clubs alike.
Now is the time to be thinking about your entry and finding those award winning images. All of the accepted images from last year's exhibition can be viewed from the 2014 Members' Exhibition Menu on the WCPF website if you want to get inspiration or just enjoy the images.
Please support the Federation by entering and helping to ensure the exhibition is a success, and that it maintains the high standards that have been seen in previous years.

Bristol Salon 2015
I have only seen two entries from BPS members so far, you're all leaving it to the last minute again and making life difficult for yours truly, when everyone will be making a mad dash to beat the closing date. As mentioned last week, the closing date for free entry to the 2015 Bristol Salon is fast approaching - 17 January. Putting together your entry could be the perfect antidote to the rigours and stresses of Christmas shopping and getting ready for the 25th. So take this opportunity to enter one of the leading international exhibitions for FREE, just go to the Salon entry page on the BPS website where you will be able to find the Conditions of Entry and the on-line entry system. If you haven't entered internationals before, this is your chance to dip your toe in the murky waters of the exhibition world, and it won't cost you a penny!
When you get to the page where you enter your own details, make sure that you select YES when asked if you are a BPS member and enter your BPS membership number (see head of this newsletter) where prompted for Membership Reference. This will mean that when you get to the payment page at the end you can just click ALREADY PAID. Ignore any references to fees due in the confirmation email you will receive.

If you have any problems, please feel free to either collar me at any Wednesday meeting or email me at chairman@bristolsalon.co.uk
