This week’s release is entitled The Standard, and features the vocal powers of Kicksville's resident sirens, Cheryl Nystrom, Georgina McKee, and Aya Peard.

 

You may ask: What’s so standard about THIS song? You may ask a lot of questions. Questions such as: Where did Galileo get all his crazy ideas? Why is the universe expanding when the real estate market is so crummy right now? Why is it always cold enough in snow globes to preserve snow-like conditions even though the globes are usually in room-temperature environments?

You could spend your whole life pondering such important questions. Or you could just enjoy the fine sort of compelling musical stylings that only Kicksville can provide. Perhaps The Standard refers to the very high musical standard the ensemble upholds at all times. If you have any doubts about the height of these standards, take a good solid listen to John Ware's guitar solo. It sets a pretty high standard, right? Not to mention the performance of the three Sirens of Kicksville and the rest of the musical monkeys on this track.

Truly, Kicksville sets a standard toward which all should aspire.

So, if you live in Wisconsin, today is the first official day of the Recall Walker effort. Walker is one of the most flaming corporate thugs in politics today, and WIsconsin voters need 540,208 signatures by January 15, 2012 to force a recall election.

 

That might sound like a lot, but this was the scene last February in Madison at the protest against Walker's attack on collective bargaining.... With this kind of support, Walker should be out of a job by this time next year.
