Matthew 5:45 He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
THANK THE LORD FOR GOOD WEATHER
What's the weather like outside where you live? Is it sunny or overcast? Rainy or snowy? Is the temperature cold or hot? Whatever the meteorological conditions may be, they are under the guiding hand of our heavenly Father, the Ruler of sunshine and rainstorms, of blowing winds and climate change.
Here's another blessing for which we have reason to praise Him: Favorable weather. How precious is this blessing? Consider: If the Lord did not command His sun to send its warming rays to our world, no seed planted in the soil would ever germinate or grow. If He did not moisten the cultivated soil with His rain and soften it with His gentle showers, plants that started to grow would shrivel quickly. Think of the damage that would be done to vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, and grape vineyards if the heavenly Father did not prevent them from being pelted by hailstones and inundated by overflowing riverbanks? (He lets these things to happen at times but in His merciful goodness He keeps them from happening regularly.) Are food pricing creeping up at the super market? How much higher would our grocery bill be if He did not keep windstorms from matting flat the grain fields of our farmers?
Truly, favorable weather is another of the special gifts that comes down to us from the Father of lights. Let's thank Him for the kindness He shows us in placing this item into our "daily bread" basket.
His law he enforces, The stars in their courses And sun in its orbit Obediently shine;
The hills and the mountains, The rivers and fountains, The deeps of the ocean Proclaim him divine.
We too should be voicing our love and rejoicing; With glad adoration a song let us raise
Till all things now living unite in thanksgiving: "To God in the highest, Hosanna and praise!"
