Seminar: "how to handle storage, transport & return of Li-ion batteries within the new regulations"

The world around us and specifically within our cleaning sector is changing continuously. So it’s important, in order to keep abreast of current developments. During the ECMR-seminar 2017 in close cooperation with van Peperzeel, the largest collector of lead acid and li-ion batteries and national sorting centre of waste batteries, participants will all be catched up on trends and developments in the handling procedures of Li-ion batteries.

Anytime energy is stored in a confined space it tries to escape, sometimes violently. Considerable efforts should be made to manage the entire life cycle of these batteries, with special attention paid to safety and fire/explosion issues. Lithium Ion battery risk and safety management remains a young yet important field for the cleaning industry. It presents challenges to a wide range of industries that manufacture, ship, store, and manipulate these powerful tools. It also presents challenges relative to risk management. How does the cleaning industry quantify the threat? How do we protect against the potential dangers? What are the safety considerations? What are the underwriting issues?

During this seminar, the organizers share their expertise on handling hazardous goods with participants to ensure that they are fully informed about how to guarantee safety procedures and transport these products in accordance with the new regulations that are now in force within the EU. This seminar is unique for the cleaning industry. It provides new information on safely and sustainably handling of Li-ion batteries, without endangering the environment and the employees who are involved in this activity and exposed to the potential risks on a daily basis.

The seminar is specifically meant for CSR, Warehouse, Marketing and Safety Managers and those who are working daily with dangerous goods.
