On Friday, we invited Dr. Betsy Welsh, Jon VanHoven (General Manager of Meijer), Ryan Brandt (Brandt Electric), Tim Engelsman (youth pastor), Dave Raquet (Midwest Psychology), Dr. Eric Geers and Deputy Justin Visser to spend 30 minutes with the FHS staff. We billed the event as a "Community Listening Day." The presenters were only given four (or five) questions to prepare for and the rest of the presentation was up to them. The questions were: 1. What are your general experiences with FHS students? 2. What do you see when you see FHS students? 3. What do you hear when you interact with FHS students? 4. What do we need to know about FHS students from your perspective? If the presenter was an employer they were asked to answer 5. What do students need to know how to do to earn a position in your company? The presenters knocked the ball out of the park! The staff was overwhelmed with information that they had never been exposed to and reported that it was the best professional development day they had participated in. We are very appreciative of all the folks who volunteered to spend some time with us.

Live, Laugh, Love was back today working with our 9th graders on positive mental health.

Tomorrow and Thursday we have have Parent-Teacher conferences from 4:00-7:30.
