The beginning of a new semester and the final one for our seniors. It is hard to believe but our seniors are down to their final four months of high school. I can hear Bruce Springsteen singing "Glory Days" off in the distance.

A great article on the changing landscape of grading in American Schools:

Students experienced the semester "lunch swap" today. Because we have split lunches, the new semester brings a new set of lunch table partners. It is interesting to see the changing dynamics of the cafeteria. It is good for the kids. It forces them to interact with new people or at least people they haven't interacted with in a while.

Newaygo County has the newest chapter of Families Against Narcotics. A flyer is attached. I appreciate Lisa and Randy's work on this critical issue. Many of us don't see this in Newaygo County but it is all over. Heroin and the like leave pain, bankruptcy, broken families, and criminal records in their wake.
