Psalm 119:133a Direct my steps by Your word.

THE CHRISTIAN COURSE: THE WORD GUIDES US (I)

I've never actually experienced this, but I've always thought that being in the middle of an ocean without a trace of dry land in sight would be a very strange feeling. In fact, I would feel quite lost because I don't have any basic navigational skills that would help me find my way across an ocean. However, with the right training and knowledge a person would be able to successfully find his way even though it might be days before any dry land becomes visible. For centuries, Polynesian navigators have been able to use the sun, moon, stars, waves, weather patterns, marine life, etc. to help them.

While most of us might not be skilled navigators of the ocean, in a sense we all do something very similar everyday: We are faced with the challenges of making it through this life. If a person doesn't have training and instruction, he can end up floating aimlessly through the waters of this life with no idea where he is headed or how to get to where he needs to be.

However, there is a way to learn about charting a course through this life. The Word of God shows us how to go about plotting a course and how to reach our final, desired destination. The Word of God shows us the Christian course, and most importantly, it shows us full forgiveness of sins and salvation through the cross of Jesus.
