NATIONAL CHARITY SUMMIT - Wednesday, 27 May 2020
WHAT: Five hundred charity leaders will gather online this coming Wednesday (27 May) to discuss the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on communities and the charity sector. Over the last two months, we have witnessed an extraordinary expression of community and solidarity as thousands of charities and community groups stepped up to face the greatest challenge of our generation. But can essential services be sustained as we prepare for a prolonged crisis? How will this be funded, and what can a newly formed Government do to support the sector? On Wednesday, Ireland’s charities will regroup to discuss:
- The collapse of fundraising income
- The impact of the pandemic on vulnerable groups
- The emerging needs of communities in the wake of the pandemic
- The policies and Government supports needed to sustain our work.
WHEN: Wednesday, 27 May from 9.30 am to 11.30 am
WHERE: Online (Zoom Conference)
WHO: The event will be attended by 500 leaders from the community, voluntary and charity sector.
Guest speaker: Kevin McCarthy, Secretary General, Department of Rural and Community Development
