Hello Friends,

Over the weekend Los Manatees began streaming over the internet using the Live365 Network, http://www.live365.com and we wanted to let everyone know about it. You can begin listening to the station at http://www.live365.com/stations/309799

Right now we have about 4 1/2 hours of live and studio music streaming 24 hours a day. We will be rotating the songs every few weeks, or sooner if we get enough feedback that you want the content rotated more often.

There are many ways to listen and you do NOT have to register if you don't want to... you should be able to listen using many media players that support internet radio. I was able to connect using iTunes (and I hear Randy was also on his Mac) by going to the "Advanced" menu, then "Open Stream..." and typing in http://www.live365.com/play/309799 (hitting Ctrl+U will get you to the "Open Stream..." also).

Winamp 3 - for some reason I could not connect using Winamp 3, a message that I needed to log in and register kept looping.

On Linux/Unix I use Streamtuner http://www.nongnu.org/streamtuner/ and then using the search function i searched for "Los Manatees" and the station came right up. Oh, I had to install the streamtuner-live365 plugin to get the live365 feature. I also was able to simply type in the http://www.live365.com/play/309799 in XMMS http://www.xmms.org/ directly and logged in no problem.

Now, you are welcome to register with live365.com if you want, I am not trying to deter you, I am only letting you all know you don't HAVE to register to be able to listen to the stream. Live365.com offers a VIP service for WIndows/Mac users that allows them to connect to any station, even if the station has reached its connection limit (we can only have 25 listeners at any one time). The VIP service also lets you here the station using the mp3PRO feature which has CD quality sound.

If you do not have a highspeed connection, such as Dial-Up, you may have difficulty connecting. If you do, please let us know via email --> losmanatees@losmanatees.com, if enough people are having problems we may be able to do something to help.

I will be putting up a listing of what songs and shows are on the station in the next week and we plan to make a lot of the music on the station available via this site for download.

We are very excited about this and hope you all enjoy the Los Manatees Internet radio!! Please send us and suggestions or comments soon.
