February 2018

Free beer and another sniff at some awards

Hello all
I am writing to you from the bar of a faded hotel in Sutton Coldfield after my third night of the 2018 tour. It's been going really well so far. But I've picked up a bug from my stupid daughter - never have sex, it is TOO DANGEROUS.
So here's what's happening in February...

CHORTLE AWARDS
Very pleased to announce that I have two nominations in the Chortle Awards. RHLSTP is up for best internet show and amazingly Emergency Questions is nominated for best book. The other three books are all incredibly good and it would be a travesty if I won that one. But who wouldn't want to help orchestrate a travesty?

RHLSTP
Series 13 of RHLSTP has only just started, but the first one is up already and it's a doozy. It's with a woman who might be the greatest human being in the United Kingdom, Kathy Burke.
Kathy did not wish to be filmed so it's audio only and to be frank you're going to miss out on some excellent facial expressions which say more than words ever could. But she's such a brilliant performer that I think you might even be able to pick those up in audio.
It's still going up on the video channels so you can listen to it in all the usual places

This is Youtube
(also on iTunes)
Or listen at the British Comedy Guide
or iTunes

And in our continuing aim to pay for RHLSTP by giving you free stuff, you can also get some FREE BEER from Beer 52 (who will give us £5 for every person who signs up) by using this link. You will get 8 free beers (you have to pay £5.95 for postage) and if you wish can unsubscribe once you've got them, or stay in and get 8 craft beers a month for £24.

Loads of great names confirmed for this series (and will be announcing more soon - dripsters and badgers get the news first). The ones with names announced are all either sold out or heading that way, so don't delay!

OH FR*G I'M 50
The tour kicks off on February 1st in Northampton. and then goes to lots of places in the UK and also Dublin before ending in early June.
There's only one London date on May 4th at the huge Queen Elizabeth Hall and we will be filming it then.  Get your tickets early if you want a better chance of your face being recorded for posterity.
These are the February ones

17th Cambridge (NEARLY SOLD OUT)
23rd Banbury
28th Cheddar

We're recording the DVD on May 4th at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. It's the only London date and tickets are shifting, so book now if you want to be a part of this.

There's also a tour podcast available at the British Comedy Guide and iTunes

Matt Forde's Unspun
I am doing 8 minutes of political stand up on this show on Sunday (I think it airs next week)

ME1 Vs ME2 SNOOKER
Frame 83 is a cracker

DRIP/MONTHLY BADGERS
And if you want to help us make even more podcasts, and get festooned with amazing extras including all the RHLSTP backstage interviews, downloads of all my stand up shows, exclusive video question and answer sessions, entry into a monthly prize draw PLUS find out the RHLSTP guests before everyone else then why not become a Dripster
You'd be paying less than a pound a week in return for 365 blogs and about 40 RHLSTPS.

If you want pretty much all of that, but not the stand up shows (not sure if you'll get the Q and A sessions either) then set your own price and become a monthly badger.
This is very much an either/or choice with whichever package suits you best.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR NO REASON
I had the worst meeting I've ever had in my life about this project. But hopefully something can be salvaged. I think this is the best thing I've ever written, so we'll keep pushing to get it made.

Bulb
If you want to move over to this renewable energy company, who don't tie you into a contract and are probably cheaper than your current provider, plus get a £50 credit for both you and me. Then sign up using this link. It turns out to be a good way to pay back for the podcasts, without personally having to pay and almost certainly saving money. Plus there's no contract so you can leave any time and they will buy you out of your current contract. And they use renewable energy. It's a win for us all.

My daughter has been enjoying the face paints that she got for Christmas. I am not so enthusiastic
