In The News...

Enjoy these two Throwback articles of Lori's from the Dayton Daily News.  You will harvest some great ideas on how to manage your email and junk drawer.
Create Time To Organize...

Life is busy, especially at work.  We don't always feel like we have the time to organize. Breaking down your tasks into small manageable chunks might be just what you need.

Before you leave work for the day, pull 10-15 folders out of your file drawer and place them on your chair.  When you come in the next day, clean out those files first thing before you check your mail, computer or phone messages.  Remove outdated information, old resources or even dispose of the whole file.

Sometimes you have to take the time for your own work and responsibilites before you find out what everyone else needs from you.  It will only take a few minutes each morning to create an organized filing system.

How To Start?...

Do you have a lot of organizing to do, but are overwhelmed by how to start?

Label 10 pieces of paper, each with a number 1-10.  Put them in a hat and each day draw out a number.  The number you draw corresponds with the number of items you need to get rid of each day.  Every day draw a brand new number.

Just think of how many things you will part with in just 10 days time!  If you took time to do the math, that is 55 items gone from your home in less than 2 weeks!

This simple method makes organizing more manageable by setting daily realistic goals.

Lose Your Stuff, Find Yourself...

Turn over a new leaf with this insight from Lori's book, "Lose Your Stuff, Find Yourself"

"A big part of getting organized is parting with items we no longer use.  Of course, this is much easier said than done.  From firsthand experience, the people who let go of clutter are happier than those who hang onto everything."
