Psalm 51:14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

HE MAKES US HIS MISSIONARIES

Late night television is filled with commercials advertising household products. Someone will talk about "the best vacuum cleaner in the world" or the "the most incredible egg timer you've ever used." But I wonder sometimes if the people who pitch these products even use them at home. Have they actually tried that "magic duster" and believe in it or are they just acting?

When we tell someone else about Jesus, however, we're not just acting. For in order to share the forgiveness of sins, one has to be filled with it himself. In order to be a faithful witness for Christ, one has to have seen the grace of God at work in His own life.

The Lord makes us His missionaries by first ministering to us. He tells us, "Your guilt is covered by my shed blood on the cross. I have paid the price for your evil. You are free. I will come again and you will live in a new earth -- like it was in the beginning." He warms our hearts with the good news of His great salvation. He shows us that the wondrous gift of eternal life does not depend on us, but it depends on Him -- and He has done all that is necessary that we might overcome death itself. He shows us that he has "saved us from bloodguilt" as the Psalm says.

Now you can open your mouth and sing of these things, for you know them personally! You rejoice in them daily! You are able to share the message of salvation with others in a heartfelt way because it has, in fact, touched your own heart.
