Dear Friend of PST,
Tonight Portland Story Theater brings a group from PlayWrite, Inc. to the Urban Tellers® stage at the Alberta Abbey (located at 126 NE Alberta, just two blocks west of MLK.) Come listen to stories about the fathers we never met, the "new normal," the challenges of the 100-mile bike ride, and more... You can snag advance tickets until 4 pm today for only $15. No worries if you decide to come on over at the last minute, we will have tickets at the door for walk-ups ($18). Plus, it's only $5 if you have an Oregon Trail Card because we are part of Arts for All PDX. Jazz provided by our house band Bamberger - Engel - Hines - Eave with special guest, tenor saxophonist Dan Andreasen. This program is made possible through the generous support of SAGE, the Regional Arts and Culture Council, and the Willamette Week. Young Adults 15+ ok if accompanied by a parent or guardian
Producer Sharon Knorr of Solo Speak is bringing Lawrence Howard back to Bend with his latest Armchair Adventure. For the first time ever, Lawrence tells the harrowing story of the Ross Sea Party, those valiant men on the other side of the continent who gave everything they had to lay down the caches of food and fuel along the route, caches that, as it turned out, Shackleton never used. Young Adults 15+ ok if accompanied by a parent or guardian
Portland Story Theater’s Storytelling Bootcamp is a one-day intensive workshop where you will create new story material, learn about narrative structure and intentional storytelling techniques, and have a chance to share your stories while getting individual feedback. No performance. The next session takes place on Sunday, June 26 from 10:30 am-6 pm in Portland at the Home Studio of Portland Story Theater. Cost $150. Preregistration required.
