Product Updates at SLO Natural Foods Co-op
Produce buyer Lonnan has brought in more LIVING GREENS. Living greens are grown hydroponically with no pesticides or sprays of any kind in clean, filtered water. They still have the roots attached with a bit of soil and they are crisp with the freshest flavor. These are all local: arugula, mizuna, and watercress from Paso and organic wheat grass from Oceano.

In Grocery, Raymond has brought in products from Don and Junee' Sherwood's CAYUCOS SAUSAGE CO. Their ALL PURPOSE SEASONING has no MSG and all natural ingredients: salt, dried garlic, black pepper, sugar, dried parsley, rice concentrate, cayenne pepper, and yeast extract. The TEQUILA MUSTARD is fat free, has no trans fat, and no known allergens. Ingredients are distilled vinegar, mustard seed, sugar, jalapenos, tequila, salt, spices, and turmeric.

We're also carrying OVEN STOKED ROASTING KITS from ALL GOOD PROVISIONS. These kits are small batch home roasting kits with all organic ingredients. Enjoy fresh roasted nuts from your own kitchen -- these are ready in 15 minutes, just mix, bake, and serve. We carry three flavors: West African Curry Cashews, Mexican Chocolate Pecans, and Black Truffle Rosemary Almonds.

Slow Money SLO: Spring Meeting

The next meeting of Slow Money SLO will be Tues, May 3, at 6pm. They'll meet at the SLO Grange, 2880 Broad St. in SLO. Meeting details from Founder and Director Jeff Wade:
"Following our March meeting, which featured great local food and speakers, we will double down this time with food from Virginia at Vert Foods and sweets from KellyMarie at Chocolate Stache.
Speakers include Doug Martin presenting his new line of all natural sodas, Larry Kandarian on his Organic farm and great grains as well as Greg Ellis on the latest good work being done by One Cool Earth.
Bring and share some of the food you love and come hear three great speakers!"

Project Hope and Fairness
Project Hope and Fairness is a volunteer organization based in San Luis Obispo that helps African cocoa farmers. President Tom Neuhaus is also the owner of Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates, one of the first Fair Trade/organic chocolatiers in the US.
Last Saturday, Tom, who is also a Master Chef, cooked for their Elegant French Dinner fundraiser, and it was a great success. We were happy to donate fresh organic veggies for this worthwhile event. Tatiana, Bulk Buyer here at the Co-op, volunteered on her own time to help serve the dinners.
To learn more about their good work, visit the Project Hope and Fairness website and Facebook page.
