Aswad, Wychwood Sessions Winners, Comedy and more!

Wychwood Festival 2017 dates confirmed- 2nd - 4th June

Welcome to our Late-April newsletter, with news on more artists including Aswad, our Wychwood Sessions Winners, and our Comedy Stage.

On our Saturday Main Stage we will be welcoming one of Britain’s best loved reggae bands, Aswad! They are renowned among reggae fans for their rich melodies and compelling harmonies, woven over hard rhythm tracks and inspired horn riffs.

We are also very excited to announce that Duncan Reid & The Big Heads will be performing on our Main Stage on Sunday. The band has developed a unique, effortlessly entertaining, and melodic brand of harmony-laden pop punk. This May sees the release of their third album Bombs Away.

We’d also like to announce the winners of our Wychwood Sessions, who have all earned themselves a slot at this year’s festival. On Friday we will have singer-songwriter Emi McDade and her band opening the Main Stage. Over in the Big Top on Saturday, melodic rock band Ivory Cross will be putting on a set full of energy and passion. Finally, we will have the fantastic Ben Maggs opening our Main Stage on Sunday.

For full line-ups and day/stage splits, please vist our What's On section here.

As you all know, there’s plenty more to Wychwood than music. With that in mind, we are delighted to announce all of our comedians for this year, in association with efestivals.co.uk.

On Friday we have the winner of ITV’s Show Me The Funny, Patrick Monahan. We also have musician and comedian Christian Reilly and aspiring goalkeeper and choirboy Lloyd Griffith. And we will be welcoming the long-haired and sci-fi inspired Andrew O’Neill.

On Saturday we've got another fantastic musician and comedian David Jordan, as well as the award winning Monkey Poet and the fabulously camp Jonathan Mayor. We will also be welcoming the super splendid Ingrid Dahle and Desmond O’Conner (the ukulele player, not the chat show host…).

Last but certainly not least, on Sunday we will be welcoming the card-throwing ninja Javier Jarquin and the winner of the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year award in 2016, Eshaan Akbar. We will also have the founder of the award-winning improv-comedy smash hit Austenyatious, Rachel Parris, as well as the West Country born and bred Cerys Nelmes and the very talented comedy magician Christian Lee.

Tickets are available now from our website. If you haven’t purchased yours yet then what are you waiting for?! Please click here to book.

Best wishes

Graeme and all the Wychwood Team
